This show is flames. It's almost like a spy movie/thriller and I like how it kinda plays with the typical slave movie stereotypes. It's really well done.

So it is pretty good homie? None of that c00nery shyt right?

Might have to check it out.

Christianity been around long before the Atlantic slave trade even in Africa, people can distort anything , just like how Muslim extremists distort Islam.

Many of the abolonists were Christians and found slave deplorable.

damn they are delivering that ether to christianity. black folks being so devout is looking real funny in the light (if you didn't know before from reading things like the slave narratives).

Yep Quakers and Shakers were huge anti-slavery christian sects.

well christianity wasn't around for these african slaves, they were introduced to it in america. and the christians who the slaves came in contact with on a daily basis weren't from anti-slavery sects. they were from the sects that found it awesome and the slaves heard that same preaching and absorbed the same teachings. i don't see this large african american presence in the quaker church. shyt, i'd respect the hell out of that.

a good, sorta relevant article.

Great episode as usual. Coli militants still sleeping, but that's expected.

Regarding Christianity, the Quakers came with that abolitionist talk. Claiming that a) it was Christian duty to convert heathens and b) The Bible wanted every Christian man free. The Quakers actively tried to convert slaves as a means of abolition (after all, if a slave is now Christian, what justification would you have to enslave them?). So slaves started converting to Christianity out of pure survival to be seen as equal in the eyes of Whites.

Initially, slave masters HATED the idea of slaves becoming Christian. But then, the "Good Book", being contradictory garbage as always, showed passages that supported slavery. So the slave masters co-opted the conversion movement and basically said: "yeah, go ahead and become Christian. Matter of fact, we'll force it on you because you should know the good book (which fulfills their Christian duty to convert heathens). and the Good Book says we is master, so bow down."

there you have it
