This show is NOT about slaves just being beaten into submission. The slaves are fighting back. They're escaping. They're killing their tormenters. This shyt is more like a thriller. People need to give it a chance. It's exciting.

Show really is good brehs. I'm tired of slavery shyt as much as the next man but this ain't that. I had way more problems with the OJ show than I've had with this.
Saw the first two episodes.. its legit. Bout to catch up over the weekend

Its show about freedom set in the days of slavery. You could apply the same story line to that of a Haolacust camp and it would be just as entertaining. The show has really good writing and does well to focus on the balance of intelligence and the want for more. Its not a show about submission. Its quite the opposite
The show's writers said they didn't write these characters as slaves, but as people held against their will who fight back. Good to see more people picking this one up
