Basically the 1st convicted child serial killer. She was a nurse that was killing babies in the hospital for years. I think it was over 10 incidents and she was charged for most, convicted on 6 or 7. A couple doctors was suspicious and went to hospital admins but nothing happened until the number got too high. She is young too, in her early to mid 30s

Same here in the US though we have the small privilege of the strong USD and reserve status propping us up so folks are more in a denial that things are bad than a daze. I feel sorry for brehs in the UK it seems like you are in for a lot of hard years especially after the way the Tories have fukked up the country. I hope you got a good job and fam to hold you down.

In 2023, the state of the US (at least economically) is not really comparable to the UK's.

The US arguably has the strongest economy in the G7 right now: falling inflation, strong GDP growth, high job growth, wages outstripping inflation for the past few months, etc.

The UK is an empire in decline. It is not a small difference, the nations are headed on different trajectories.

Nothing changes with the UK unless they go back into the EU.

They dont go back into the EU they will be exploited by an oligarch class that will make their money then bounce.

Folks in the UK were fed a bunch of bullshyt and they ate it up.

Same way that Trump exploited racism in the US, but the US is big enough to survive, the UK isn't.

The UK is nuts. Very low salaries that have not kept up with inflation and a high cost of living. It's not like many other countries in Western Europe where what looks like a low salary will allow you to live like a king.

Another way in which the UK stands out (in a bad way): you have inner London and a few other posh areas that are really nice, but if you go outside of those areas it is a dilapidated, depressing dump.

It is truly a country going in the wrong direction in every way. The decline is very real.

I think I maybe said this, but to me... Queen Elizabeth II was the comfort food for current Brittian. Everyone had respect for her, even in the worse moments of her reign. When shyt was bad, she was there to comfort the Nation. Now that she is dead, they are stuck with Charles and William, and really they are pretty dull and really won't be able to calm a nation when shyt REALLY hits the fan... instead they will just pout, "Keep Order".

"Average UK real household income is broadly unchanged since 2007, just before the banking crisis, according to data from the Office for National Statistics."

@jj23

average salary in the uk:

Median salaries in the UK

The mean salary in the UK can be a misrepresentation due to a small number of people earning a lot. This means that the median salary—the middle point if all the salaries are plotted on a graph—gives a more accurate view of the UK average wage. According to the ONS, the median full-time salary in 2020 was £31,461, and the median salary for part-time workers was £11,234.

average salary in the usa:

The median salary in the U.S. in the second quarter of 2022 was $1,041 per week or $54,132 per year.

"This will come as something of a surprise to Americans, who generally think of Mississippi being so poor as to be almost third world in the extent of its deprivation. It'll also come as something of a surprise to most visitors to Britain, who generally see London as being representative. It isn't, London itself is the richest area of The European Union. There are other areas of Britain that are counted among the poorest. Britain is, really (and I say this as a native of the place) a truly world class and world wealthy city surrounded by an entirely unremarkable European country. And now for the surprise: Britain is poorer than Mississippi."
