Machida is too tentative and has low output. It cost him the first fight and I don't think that will ever change. Jacare was able to basically bum rush Mousassi towards the cage and use the clinch to drag him down. He will be flat back doing that to Weidman I mean don't get me wrong. I've said Weidman is beatable due to his poor cardio and any of those guys can win(except Rockhold) if they withstand early. I just see Romero having the best chance due to his style.

Machida lost a competitive fight. If he fights the whole fight like he did in the last 2 rounds of the Weidman match, I think he can pull it off. He has a much better chance than Romero.

I mean those two fights were some of Lyoto most aggressive ever. Before he was knows as a boring low output decision king. Then after Shogun plastered him he went back to that safe style(not as extreme but the guy who had was bobbling Evans head from one side of the cage to the other is gone)

Thales Leites got a title shot with wins over Jensen, McFedries & a split decision over Nate Marquardt.

Cote got a shot with wins over Grove, McFedries & a split decision over Almeida.

Lutter got a shot with wins over Sell, Smith and Cote. Yes, it was because of winning TUF, but that list of opponents is still a struggle.

Marquardt got a shot with wins over Lister, Wallace and Doerksen.

Weidman's run of Lawlor, Munoz & Maia (which isn't anything special) is still better than the runs mentioned above. And about on par with Okami and Maia's runs imo
