Another Gold Medal
The skill level of these mma guys is about to seriously go up in a few imo. I'm just a casual but I know boxing and I know wrestling and the skill level of the guys I see now are>>>>>the guys from a few years back in those aspects, I can't speak for the bjj though. :manny:

kids are getting college level wrestling as early as 8 years old now :wow:

There are kids that are specifically using bjj/striking to stay in shape during the wrestling off season and going to fighters camps in the summer. These demons are taking wrestling/bjj/striking year round before they hit puberty :damn: :damn:

ahh but machida doesnt have wrestling tho he just has some sumo which has been greatly lost by the drop in weight

The funny thing is Machida was stylistically a difficult fight for Weidman. An excellent striker with top-notch TDD.

You know who has a better shot at landing that 'one shot'? Vitor Belfort

'But..but...but Vitor is old. He's off TRT. He's coming off a long break. Insert _____ excuse''
just for the sake of argument when weidman beats vitor are you actually going to rate it as a crowning achievement? :why:

Not as good as his Machida & Silva wins, but still a good win.

The fact that you try to completely discredit his achievements is just laughable.

the mousasi and weidman fights, never seen him tag dudes that many times at LHW with the fighter lasting the whole fight with their equilibrium undisturbed

Mousasi has one of the best chins in MMA, not just his division (I don't think he's ever been rocked in over 60 fights, including kickboxing and boxing matches). And from what we've seen from Weidman, he has a great chin too.

brehs, let's be honest saying he fought Silva 2x is foolish ? Both fights were flukes. 1 was a lucky punch off taunting and the other was a broken leg. He has never dominated anybody like Rampoage or Bones has. NEVER since he's been champ. Machida is past his prime and don't tell me Vitor is the best he could get. Jacare still roaming free ? Why not make Jacare-Weidman ? Rockhold is another tough opponent with good TD skills. He will be the GSP of the MW division, except GSP actually fought good comp at the beginning.

:mindblown: Where is this coming from? You and @Roman Brady both said this? Since when does Rockhold out of everyone have good TD? To me hes probably Weidman's easiest matchup. Only thing he has on Weidman is kickboxing and height. Weidman is the better wrestler, grappler, boxer, and hes stronger

Already trying to discredit him? :mjlol:

Was winning the first Silva fight and finished it with a KO. Dominating the 2nd fight and then Anderson broke his leg.

Beat Machida decisively (although the fight was competitive) 4 rounds to 1. Out-striked one of MMA's best strikers.

Rockhold is like Weidman, but just not as good.

had this conversation so many times, the 1st sonnen with Silva showed you can dominate all u like but you got to close the deal. Yeah he got the punch in the end but it's not a good look when even Silva haters are like what an idiot, who clowns around or the other one being he took a dive. No one was like weidman has arrived.

I already commented on how machida's style essentially let him off the hook what I mean is what did weidman do that was in any way memorable. Like was there an offensive manoeuvre that made u gasp?
