had this conversation so many times, the 1st sonnen with Silva showed you can dominate all u like but you got to close the deal. Yeah he got the punch in the end but it's not a good look when even Silva haters are like what an idiot, who clowns around or the other one being he took a dive. No one was like weidman has arrived.
I already commented on how machida's style essentially let him off the hook what I mean is what did weidman do that was in any way memorable. Like was there an offensive manoeuvre that made u gasp?

Spewing bullshyt the Roman Brady way. :snoop:

Still haven't come up with a decent response to the earlier posts made by me and @Newzz ?

weidman isn't being protected from anyone and as far as stylistic match-ups go, he matches up well with EVERYBODY because he's good EVERYWHERE. so that dumbass argument holds no weight to begin with. there's a lot of fights to be had in the future anyways, so some of the guys you're claiming that he's being protected from will get their shot eventually if he keeps his belt anyways.

in summary, this thread is stupid and @Roman Brady is stupid.

the mousasi and weidman fights, never seen him tag dudes that many times at LHW with the fighter lasting the whole fight with their equilibrium undisturbed

I've seen you mention this plenty of times but refresh my memory but when has Machida had serious one punch KO power? I agree he was losing too much muscle mass in his first few MW fights. He looked much stronger vs Dolloway

Jacare matches up better. I don't think Weidman finishes Jacare, Machida, Rockhold or Moose imo

Jacare? Hes not getting Weidman down. Don't see it happening. And his striking while effective is way too predictable. Weidman can finish all those guys either on the ground or standing. He almost choked out Lyoto at the end of the first. Romero has the wrestling to contend with Weidman. Hes athletic as hell and his striking is dynamic.

Actually, I still believe that Machida matches up the best with Weidman. Jacare is second. From what I remember, Jacare was getting the better of (a very good striker in) Moose standing. Weidman still holds the advantage standing, but it's going to be relatively close imo
He didn't almost finish Machida. :dahell:

He did OHKO Bader. :sas2:

It's an interesting matchup but he doesn't have the gas tank to go 3 rounds with weedman much less 5. He'd have to win by first round KO....which is possible, he has the power

Machida is too tentative and has low output. It cost him the first fight and I don't think that will ever change. Jacare was able to basically bum rush Mousassi towards the cage and use the clinch to drag him down. He will be flat back doing that to Weidman I mean don't get me wrong. I've said Weidman is beatable due to his poor cardio and any of those guys can win(except Rockhold) if they withstand early. I just see Romero having the best chance due to his style.
