I’d like to apologize to The Coli on behalf of Kyokushin Karate, for Krylov’s underwhelming performance.
What you saw tonight was a horrible display of Kyokushin Karate. We are NEVER that wild or off balance in our striking. All that over-extending that he was doing causing him to end up off balance, it literally goes against everything/way that we train. Everything we throw is tight, accurate, and powerful. Very little wasted movement.
It’s DRILLED, no, BEATEN into you in Kyokushin.
George St. Pierre is an excellent example of Kyokushin in the octagon. But for a more recent example:
This is what real Kyokushin looks like in the octagon
I know this fight is 9mins but it’s worth every second. KYOKUSHIN vs MUAY THAI
There’s a reason why we are often referred to as the Navy Seals (some quote it as “Marines”) of Martial Arts.
