I still say Aldo has it because he was a force of nature. His records still hold up. He just aged out like everyone not named Jones.

I agree Aldo is still the best and all time champ at fesrherweight. He was a long time chat. He had almost a 10 yr undefeated run as WEC and UFC champ but nt only that how he won it was so rare back then to see a lighter weight fighter so aggressive and damaging guys with head kicks. And take down defense vs such top wrestlers. He was pure destruction. He beat the who's who in the division convincingly every time

And really if not for the injuries, long wait time and head gms for that connor fight things might have gone differently.

The problem I have with volk, when you look back when was his dominate champ run? He faced max what 3 or 4 times and still ppl argue that max won some of those matches. Volk had tremendous cardio but he cld never finish anyone.

His big champ dominate run was 2 decisions to max, decision to Ortega and then beat up an old zombie who was there for a payday then he lost to Islam. He never really looked dominate vs a top fighter where he md someone look outnof his league or he looked too dangerous or finish someone. For all his grappling skill no subs no ground and pound. He seems more like a champ during a weak time of division.

Even now he beat a young Diego, in his first 5 round fight. He clearly didn't look ready for the big lights and his team doesn't have much experience in big fights as well. He was the taller longer fighter yet it was volk out boxing him and using jab and distance on lopes. And he didn't even try any take downs on volk and he has nasty top game.

And honestly I still don't know how volk got a title shot coming off 2 KO losses. Like is this the new UFC way you lose your fight and get a title shot next (suga Sean)
