I dont know how to call either of the mains.

Cejudo is damned good but 3 years is a long time. Then I look at Jon Jones and he's the World Champion at a new weight class after beating a top 3 heavyweight in UFC. But Aljo is the best 135er in UFC. He's got the skills, the gas tank, the subs and the ability to get it done on Saturday. I just don't know how his strength will work vs Cejudo's wrestling while also having to worry about Cejudo's at the time, new stand up skills. And then you get to how "stocky" Cejudo is built. He's more compact than TJ, Yan, Sandhagen and Sean. Will that play into the submission game?

Then in the co-main, I have no idea who eins this one. This is a quick as hell turnaround for Burns who went all 3 rounds with Jorge. But it's not like he was put in any bad positions. Crazy how these men have to put the other guy down when one of them could/should be fighting Leon for the belt. But ignoring that, Belal has sneakily been on a run at 170. It's just that he doesn't have that signature win OR that win over a relatively big name on his resume to put him over the top. It's crazy how that still works against fighters.

I'm going heart on both these picks since it's a toss up in both fights for me. I'm picking Aljo for being more active and Belal since Burns is turning around real quick.

These are very tough fights to pick.

Cejudo physically looks like he put on a lot of lean muscle, so I anticipate a very wrestle-heavy approach from him despite the tidbits he's trying to leave saying he wants to KO Aljamain. I think that would definitely be the wrong approach given Aljamain's length.

I think Aljo will try and fight from distance and attempt to force a shot out of Henry and look for sub as he dives in. If he can circle and pick Henry apart from the outside, he can frustrate him later on in the fight. It could go either way, but I'll say Aljamain via sub rd 3. If Aljo wins then I can see him vacating and moving up to give his friend Merab an opportunity to fight for the title.

Belal vs Gilbert is another tough one. Belal reminds me of Kamaru in a way. They are both grinders and fight in a style that tries to break their opponent. I'm just not sure if that opponent is Durinho. Gilbert has been in there with Kamaru and Khamzat which are some of the best at WW, so he's not phased by a physical, wrestle-heavy approach. Where I think his advantage will show is on the feet. I think he may just be a bit too quick for Belal. Not sure I see either man getting finished, so I'll say Durinho via decision.

Cejudo and his team have definitely been trying to get under Aljo’s skin all week. I really think that plan might backfire.
Definitely! Aljo is intense, but he's too smart to fall for that. Aljo really wants to make a statement here and I hope he finishes 'Triple C' in impressive fashion.

belal sounded like a sick old lady at his interview.

last week trey waters got signed and won his fight on 5 days notice vs an undefeated roider when trey had just fought 2 weeks before. went the distance too. casey kenney did the same in his debut vs ray borg. so im not too concerned with that because belal has similar working against him.

I’ll probably pass on a burns bet though and think of a different way to approach. he’s getting up there in age and looked pretty flat vs easy money masvidal.

That's wild that both these fights are happening on a PPV. Co-main has one cat recovering from Ramadan and one that fought a month ago. Whoever wins this fight, is going to have to wait for Colby and Edwards, which is absurd, or a 4th fight with Kamaru, which would be shocking.

The main is intriguing because Henry did give up the belt and he does his best to sell fights, aka crazy. But it looks bad when guys that haven't fought in three years just walk in and take their belts back.

Cejudo is a tiny goat so it wouldn't bother me at all him coming back after 3 years and getting the belt again.
