Izzy did exactly what you have to when you're hurt versus a world class finisher; cover up to avoid the biggest hits that can put you out or cause the ref to step in, and hit back hard and fast to reestablish respect so the guy stops wailing on you. Fortunately Alex's chin was up and open enough that he got straight up put down in one shot once he did fire back.
