"the hunter becomes the hunted" :wow:

Izzy going down in infamy for that celebration. Might possibly be the greatest celebration in the history of sports. Especially with how epic pereira's arrow trademark is. He's never gonna be able to do it again without thinking of Izzy now.

Izzy pulled off some real life art of war shyt. fukkin Iconic:wow:

What's funny is Izzy has the mouth of Conor McGregor except he is way more talented.
Bruh…Just bc he won don’t overhype his cringe worthy press/post fight commentary. AMAZING fighter, HORRIBLE on the mic

Connor had a spark when he started but now he’s just garbage. Apples & oranges with the comparison :manny:

This was how it looked going into tonight. The division is :flabbynsick: outside of Izzy and Pereira. I certainly don't see him being beat outside of a random punch.

MIDDLEWEIGHT
ALEX PEREIRA
1, Israel Adesanya
2 Robert Whittaker
3 Marvin Vettori
4 Jared Cannonier
5 Paulo Costa
6 Dricus Du Plessis
7 Sean Strickland
8 Derek Brunson
9 Roman Dolidze
10 Jack Hermansson
11 Nassourdine Imavov
12 Brendan Allen
13 Andre Muniz
14 Chris Curtis
15 Kelvin Gastelum
Whittaker is the real deal too, outside of this 3...yeah pretty crappy div, with some TDD Poatan would crush all those dudes except for Whittaker.

So getting beat 3 times & FINALLY knocking out your adversary is “Art of War”……don’t get me wrong, AMAZING knockout from Izzy, but cmon now……3-1, 1-1 in MMA. Do they do it again????

Remember the first fight Izzy hurt pereira at the end of the first round with a similar counter strike. This time Izzy landed the counter perfectly. Alex got way too cocky and didn’t respect the power.

I honestly didn’t think going in Izzy could do it. Given the division it would be nice Pereira fought Whitaker next but it’s about the money so we’ll see what Dana wants to do.

That was an incredible high level striking fight for as long as it lasted
Was really impressed by both guys defense
Like they don't use the conventional hands up chin down textbook boxing style cause that's not really good for MMA anyway, just the way they were moving and getting just out of the way of strikes was impressive

A lot of finishes are like baking a cake where you got to wait until the batter is cooked all the way through and Poatan tried to take the cake out too soon :russ:
Gotta be sure a guy like Izzy is really hurt to tee off so carelessly like that. He was buzzed but not enough to just throw caution to the wind and Poatan got a nap for it

Reminded me of the old TJ Dillishaw vs. Cruz fight. Different styles of course, but you put two high level strikers with ACTUAL history/beef between them and not manufactured WWE promo BS and you're usually guaranteed fireworks. There HAS to be that history tho, setting up guys like Wonderboy or Izzy vs. people they don't have any animosity towards and they'll revert to that low output point fighting that often leads to stinkers (the Izzy/Romero "fight" :mjlol::unimpressed:).

People saying Alex needs to fight randoms like Whittaker or Vettori to "earn" another shot, FOH. :camby: Izzy got an immediate rematch despite being slept TWICE in their previous bouts. Give Alex a chance to redeem himself and "taste happiness" like Izzy did tonight once he's recovered late in the fall this year. Stylebender riding a career/life high vs. Poatan coming back for vengenace will be the best fight you can make in MMA this year :blessed:

At least Izzy is original
