So I’ve been training for 15 years with Nova Uniao Hawaii (BJ Penn affiliation), and I started visiting and training with Brandon Mccaghren at 10th Planet Decatur last year.

I’ve always loved nogi more. Brandon is kind of far from me, but if you ever get a chance he’s amazing to train with. Most welcoming and fun training atmosphere I’ve ever been in. They treated me like family and it was awesome

Thankfully I moved recently, and I’m not at a Niva Uniao school anymore, but I’m at a place where I can mostly do nogi.
Yeah me and my son been training(he started training when he was 6) for 7years were under bjj revolution. I'm the hobbyist/coach mainly more so for my son he just turned 15yrs (blue belt)he aspire to compete in adcc with the next 5yrs, gonna hit the trials and go from there.
We became more no gi heavy over the last 4yrs. He stills train in the GI I don't lol only stick to no gi at this point.

That’s so awesome! Are you up under Andrew smith?

I’m 35 now and I’ve got a lot of mileage and honestly I’m finding nogi much easier on my body. More surface bumps but my deep tissue and muscles feel way better.

that’s great about your son. So he wants to compete seriously? He’s at a good place!

Funny you say that because people our age feel the opposite. They feel GI is easier on the body lol. Yeah tho he's been on the mats like 5 to 6 days a week since he started competing and that was when he was 7. He's done won at damn near everything you can think of except ibjjf(hes not a fan of the rule set so he hasn't competed there). He's done won agf, naga, new breed, fight2win, 3rdCoastGrappling, and on and on. Most no gi tournaments he competes at adult 175lbs all subs(including heel hooks). He's 5'9 172lbs. So yeah that's his goal he's already cooking black, brown, purple in no gi. So we gonna see where this goes lol. We affiliated with Rodrigo Medeiros our gym is in New Orleans

The fact Tony's orbital bone was fractured and had to be stopped by his own will by running away tells you how tf could Margarito have continued against Manny Pacquiao?
