Great Coaching by Justin G’s coach telling him to pick your shots and not just load up on every shot. After that, it was night night for Ferguson.
It helps that Justin actually listened to his corner unlike Yorgan de Castro.

"Left, shoot" :damn:

"High guard":damn:

"Kick, kick!"

This is the saddest I’ve been in a long time brehs. Tony is an extended teammate (10th Planet) and been my favorite fighter since 2013 at ufc 166.

That loss hurt so much to watch. I knew all week Justin would win. I just had a sinking feeling in my stomach that it was a bad matchup and that 2 weight cuts in one month for tony was stupid.

that was as brutal a fight I’ve seen since big nog vs bob sapp. I was hoping tony would’ve just gone out. Too tough for his own good. Terrible cornering too, and I don’t know why he didn’t adjust strategies.

props to Justin. Excellent fighter. I’m so dejected today. mma is the cruelest sport

Him cutting weight twice like an idiot didn't help Ferguson last night but Gaethje really evolved from the two times he got beat up while going for the slugfest and put on clinic.

He looked really good though I thought he was starting to gas in the 3rd but actually didn't. Props to him and we'll see how he fares against Khabib. I hope his kicking game will be a major factor but not sure hell be able to keep the fight standing for his kicking to have an effect and Khabib.

Re: Ferg, I think he didnt look that good against Cowboy and it felt like he was already slowing down by that time. I wish he has tried to mix up things by the 3rd because it was obvious he was losing at striking.

IMO, dude is done and should be checked on regularly because he'll probably have more psychotic breaks in the future after this life altering beating. Won't be surprised if his life takes a darker turn above all as he probably doesnt care about his treatment.
As I said in my above post, Tony’s my favorite fighter and an extended teammate.

but I’m with you. He’s almost pushing 40 and has taken a lot of damage. Not to mention the LCL year. I wish he’d put his intensity towards submission grappling and Jiujitsu and hit the circuit there. There’s good money nowadays and he shouldn’t be taking more head trauma.

he needs some kind of competitive outlet and it would be a great place for him.

Gaethje was a Division I All-American(ie finished top 8 in the nation) in 2010. While that is impressive, we almost never see him use it in MMA. There are plenty of dudes who are accomplished in wrestling, striking, etc, yet they're not able to use that skill effectively in MMA.
Correct on the above. Justin uses his elite wrestling to keep it standing and counter wrestles to keep it on the feet because (he has EXCELLENT takedown defense) he hits you he's gonna hurt you. I don't think khabib will be able to press Justin against the cage(where he likes to do his most work to take down). Khabib isnt as great shooting his takedown in the center of the ring as he is when he get you on that cage. I honestly don't see how khabib wins this.

I don’t think the cutting twice in a month hurt him. Several fighters have came in on short notice and handled business or just had 1 training camp/fight and another fighter pulls out and they replace them on short notice. Tony seems like the type. The thing is this Tony USUALLY ALWAYS gets hit he’s just always been an animal enough to outwork his opponents. This time Justin stay composed and laid it on him. Tony had NO answer for Justin’s left which to me was a surprise and it looked like he was waiting/hoping Justin would rush and lose his stamina it didn’t happen and voila. If there was a rematch I think Tony would counter the left but idk it would still win... they are both alike in that they both take extreme amount of punishment and don’t necessarily back down either. Khabib is a different animal he doesn’t back down nor does he take punishment. So for Justin and Tony that’s a puzzle. Tony shoulda been ready for whoever regardless though so...

Such a mature, well constructed rebuttal.

Ferguson is literally a meth addict that thinks there's people inside his walls, afraid of having microchips inserted into his leg. :camby:

I blame the athletics commission as much as blame that fat fukk Trump supporter.

have a nickname of “Chunky McDaniels” and really give a fukk about sports/UFC debates on a message board, brehs.

chase Daps on a message board :mjlol::russ::mjlol:

Yeah, Dana put this show on for the benefit of the fighters :unimpressed:

yeah because every sports commissioner/executive does for the athletes.

“this is reckless and dangerous...but I will still watch”

more :trash: virtue. flimsy ass moral standard. But no longer surprising from The Coli:hhh:

Justin may have ended Ferguson tonight. He picked him apart and landed devastating punches, chopped his legs up and fought a measured, patient fight. That type of Justin is a dangerous man even for Khabib. Tony at 36 shouldn't be taking that type of damage, he ate a lot of powerful shots tonight.

Not happy with the stoppage in Cejudo vs Cruz, Cruz was on his way back to his feet despite getting rocked.

What can you say about Ngannou, that man has ungodly power but that finishing sequence he had his chin way too high. He's fortunate HW is devoid of many great boxers. He's definitely earned the shot but has to wait for Stipe vs DC. If Stipe isn't ready in the next few months they should just make Ngannou vs DC fpr the interim title.

Greg Hardy seems to be coming along. His cardio looked much improved, still say he should trim down to at least 250lbs.

The undercard was solid, Luque vs Price was a war.
