What makes you think he made millions off rap?
You buggin'
Olympic torch flaming, we burn so sweet
The thrill of victory, the agony, defeat
We crush slow, flamin deluxe slow
For,
judgment day cometh, conquer, it's war
Allow us to escape, hell glow spinning bomb
Pocket full of shells out the sky, Golden Arms
Tune spit the shytty Mortal Kombat sound
The fateful step make, the blood stain the ground
A jungle junkie, vigilante tantrum
A death kiss, catwalk, squeeze another anthem
Hold it for ransom, tranquilized with anesthetics
My orchestra, graceful, music ballerinas
My music Sicily, rich California smell
An axe killer adventure, paint a picture well
I sing a song from Sing-Sing, sippin on ginseng
Righteous wax chaperone, rotating ring king
His verse hits all poetic points, visuals, word play and symbolism
How can u be mad when u arent hustling to get to their spot?Ugod calling them wack cuz if he and deck got the resources and time they got, things mighta been different. Plus i like those groups but lets not pretend every member was wutang quality. Each had a wu quality star and some decent to straight horrible rappers. I dont for a second think he meant killah sin killah priest were wack...
If im ugod in 97 after wu forever where im def dropping quality verses (top 3 imo) and i see islord and 9th prince getting multiple releases before me im mad too. Priest has rza put him on and he leaves right after yet he gets solo and group album with dope production because its a check in rzas pocket from the labels.
Ugod gets what rza gave him on his album... wutang released project.. deck couldnt even get rza to mix his shyt.. i get it
Datz gangsta and pleasure or pain are my ish. Album needed a year in the oven. It was the last wu solo of 99.. one of like 12 and the worst yet.. mind you he on WUTANG records so its RZAS call... also on the supreme clientele single MONTHS later... more care could have went in to set him up for the props. It was not a well thought out manuever.
I will say his. Datz gangsta. Bizarre. Pleasure or pain > 3 best songs on decks album for sure.
In school we would talk about in what order all the solos that didn't drop yet should be in, and nikkas said U-God and Masta Killa should have a duo album together since nobody wanted eitherEven as a casual follower of the Wu during their run back in the day, even I knew U as one of their weakest members
I put that on last night and it's only second to Supreme Clientele as far as post-90s main Wu albumsMK is far from whack. He first album was really dope and had that old WU sound.
