Damn. Your opinion means a lot so I’m gonna go back and check out some of his old shyt. You think he could’ve been bigger than Method Man? Meth from early early on had that bigger than hip hop vibe to me. Like Snoop. If you told me Meth and Snoop would be in major movies I would have believed you. I don’t know if I could see that for Cap.

But you’re right he did have crazy dope punchlines, a good voice, good energy, and a solid flow. I liked him since I first heard him on Ice Water but maybe I slept on The Pillage.

Lol, no you didnt sleep on The Pillage.
That album should've been an instrumental tape. Cap dropped the ball like crazy.
Theres no need to check out his older stuff.

Cap could have been the grown man of the wu. He shined that way in the pillage.
Man I feel so embarrassed to say this but I don’t even remember what the pill it sounded like. I remember listening to it but I think I only listen to it once… I’m on my way to the gym now and it’s on the playlist. I’m on track to and it’s dope so far

First time I'm disagreeing with you bro.
But Cap was a superstar, he could've been more successful than Meth had he kept the same energy (Ice Cream/Winter Warz)
He was super marketable. That's why he was a co-star on Ironman. He had next, he could've been the biggest of them all cause he was a punchline rapper (he called himself the 2Chainz of the east once and that ain't no reach)but he fell off a cliff skill wise after Ironman. (97 Mentality was his last spark). I dunno what the fukk happened to him.

*Samuel L. Jackson voice* Cap used to be beautiful.

Pause

Yea, Cap was colorful, had dope slang, had the dapper image and could spit his ass off. His decline in skills after 96 is sad.

Very dope album. But mostly because of the beats. Cap was already on the decline, rhyme wise, on there.

I’m utterly disgusted at how ungrateful these dudes are. RZA literally got inspired by the Holy Spirit and gets all the best spitters he has around the projects. Produces beats for them, takes the lessons he learned from the record biz and starts his own label, put all them dudes on and catapults them to fame and glory. Sets them up in a system where they can sign to any label they like. Hand holds these bytch nikkas the whole way through and all they do is shyt on him. Every fukking interview. Literally right now there are people in those projects who never left and most of them Wu nikkas would have suffered the same fate if not for RZA.

RZA should be commended for what he did. Putting all those people on. Sacrificing more than anyone putting beats together like a madman, releasing everyone from their production deal after they complained. Any other person would have fukked all of them over. 50, Jay, Puffy, Dame, Lyor. Literally no one in the music industry would have done what RZA did and he still gets shyt on. Honestly fukk U-God for being an ungrateful b*stard.
I love Wu as much, or more, than any nikka on here and I agree with every single word in this post. Rep.

I said in a post in the Mics and Men thread a few days ago that any other contemporary RZA had would have done every single member of the Clan so dirty it would be disgusting. The members like U-God or Rae, who complain the most, just have to know that a nikka like Puffy or Suge or Russell would have did them so dirty they would have wanted to kill them. I'm fukking tired seeing these nikkas getting on interviews and shytting on RZA every chance they get. Imagine them signed to Birdman and walk into his office demanding to get out of their contract and he just release them just because he got love for them :russ:
Ya'll are making me appreciate RZA as a businessman in a new light. I never really kept up with any drama around RZA. I just remember Raekwon popping off in some interviews over the years, and maybe a couple others. Had no idea until the documentary that he just let them out of contracts, and I had no idea that so many members complained.

I also give Deck props for not fussing too much about his album getting destroyed. I watched an interview this week and he basically chalked it up to fate, and didn't pester RZA to re-produce it for him, and didn't go try to get more features from Meth, Ghost, etc.

He doesn't seem like much of a complainer.

Did Meth, Ghost, or GZA ever go at RZA over the years? I could see it with Meth and Ghost, but GZA seems like maybe he wouldn't.

I’m trying to think of a memorable U-God verse because I can’t think of an actual song of his that was memorable.

The only two I can come up with are Winter Warz and Triumph, and the latter was largely due to RZA dropping the vocal sample at the start of his verse.
:dead: I never even realized that until you wrote it. :heh:

Good ear

dude has toured the world 100x and made millions off rap, for basically a handful of verses recorded between 93-97. i have no idea why hes so bitter all the time

On top of that he had verses on some of the big Wu tang related crossover tracks after that peak period too (Gravel Pit, Le Cherchez Ghost) and they still preform them to close out shows

I went back and listened to Forever in its entirety over the past couple of days.

Ueyy stepped up big time on that album. His flow was on point. He is still not a star, but he held his own.

What’s crazy is I have never heard Deck or Masta Killa complaining or talking shyt about RZA.

GZA wasn’t signed to Wu-Tang Productions so he I guess he didn’t have anything to complain about.

It’s usually U-God, Rae and Ghost in that order.

Oh im not argreeing what that devil shyt I was agreeing with the vlad interview. But still those dudes got better production and direction than U God did.

Well, La had damn near everybody with some name on his album - Carlos Broady did most, Hav, Muggs...I'm sure U-God could've gotten them.

The irony is that Uey has tons of personality. He could definitely be a TV staple. He's also respected in the streets, and he sound good on damn near any beat.

So Rza wrote ALL of ODB's lyrics?

Wow, didnt know that.

And yep. I'd rather watch and listen to ODB rap than RZA.

Was never really a fan of RZA's stop n go fast flow. :yeshrug:

Dirty tends to freestyle ish in the booth. But he did spit RZA & GZA lyrics. I remember this one time they were at it, and GZA was like "half that ish on your album I wrote." You can tell the difference between Dirty and others...hell he spits it in their flow. And Flush wrote Pop Shyt

Looking back, and I'm a huge Wu fan...I still purchase their albums...They really have like 6 Top 50 MCs...and can account for easily 5 GOAT albums.

I may be the only one that likes Digital Bullet more than In Stereo
