What's RZA best solo

Digital Bullet

It has a really bad track in DV2 & the lull in the middle of Shady/Break Bread/Bong Bong, but it's RZA actually spitting instead of freestyling like he did on the first Bob Digi album and lots of great production outside the weaker tracks I mentioned.

U-God has been growing on me recently in these interviews. Also been listening to a lot of Wu this month and even though he was far from the best in the group he was still pretty dope and had some great verses.

Deck was on Loud and supposed to be up next after Rae dropped Cuban Linx. He was trying to fight to get his album out while Cuban Linx was out with a lot of heat behind it, as well as Pun and Fat Joe being signed. Then Loud got dropped by its parent company and picked up by Sony or Relativity, and then suddenly he got put onto a bigger machine that had Nas, Bone, etc, and he got pushed way back. Combined with the flood that destroyed his initial album produced by RZA, so he had to remake a new one, and he just had a lot of cards stacked against him.

Edit: he explains a lot of it here

Deck was definitely confused in that interview about when Uncontrolled Substance came out. Wasn’t that like 98 -99? Rae came out in 95

I thought he was saying that the OG Uncontrolled Substance was scheduled to drop in '96 maybe? The Purple Tape did drop in '95 but if I recall it was towards the tail end of the year. I know Deck's solo debut was supposed to drop on Loud before Forever, which dropped in '97, and since Deck had to record an entirely new album I imagine that took some time, right?

:patrice: At least that's how I interpreted things. I could be wrong. :hubie:

I think that’s what he meant but he was goin back and forth from The Purple Tape being so big and loud folding and he made the chronology confusing but you’re right though imo

Islord responding to this.

I also seen where members are beefing on Twitter. I see elsewhere , SMDH.

***Going back to lurking

**to whoever want to make a separate thread feel free.

Stay up yall.

Glad Islord addressed those issues. U-God was bugging and he was in grumpy Oscar the grouch mode on that Vlad interview.

And fukking 9th Prince is fukking dumb as hell trying to put out a Killarmy project without their 2 best MCs (Dom and Killa Sin) AND their producer (4th Disciple).

I don't want to see these niccaz beefing :mjcry:

Dom's been dropping heat for years now, on the low.

They've been beefing for like a decade now. Dom P said 9th Prince was taking tracks for Killarmy projects and putting them on his own ish. That's what started it, so I don't think they've worked together since. Funny tho, they're still in the same circles, and like 2 weeks ago were all flicked up.

Bottom line though, we're NEVER getting The Six Man Wetting/Wedding album. They were supposed to come together and do that when Sin got home the 1st/2nd time.

@BuddahMAC is GZA the most well liked one in the group? seems like no one ever has anything bad to say about him

I'd say GZA's status is kind of elder statesman and he's always been kind of above reproach because he came in the crew as a veteran and the teacher of RZA who got the rest of the crew together. So I'd say he gets a certain respect for that status alone beyond how people feel about him and that status has always made him a degree of outsider as opposed to most of the crew that came up together. Like there's been interviews where RZA's said GZA doesn't show up for things but what can he really do to check him b/c that's the guy that put him on.

I'd say the most liked would be Meth where even though sometimes some members might have been jealous of his superstar status within the group, he's always been the most down for the crew, will help anyone with anything, the realist dude, etc... There's a reason why when Joey Buttons started talking shyt about Meth, everyone and their 5th cousin came out to defend him. Meth is one of the best people in hip-hop and beloved by anyone who knows and has interacted with him.

Also I'd say Masta Killa gets a special degree of respect from everyone for being that lay in the cut, down for whoever needs me, take whatever comes, rep the crew at all times guy.

Everyone else, I'd say there's periods of clashing & disagreements & egos, but end of the day Meth & MK would be the ones everyone in the collective would be coolest with.

He's always been held in very high regard. I remember on several occasions, they have said he's the greatest MC they knew/worked with.

what about cappadonna?
U-God said he brought him to the clan but it always seemed like he was the closest with GFK and Raekwon.
