I was half-right .........I thought rumble would hurt DC early and Cormier would lose confidence/never recover and then lose a lopsisded decision......great performance by Daniel....got buzzed early, stayed composed....was eating rumble's infamous head kicks like bacon ......vicious GNP...stayed heavy....wore AJ out... and that elbow that cut AJ basically was end of it all....I actually was impressed that AJ got off the stool and came out in the third....these days, when them AKA boys get you on the ground...you're about as good as fukked..


Weidman with another asterisk win....wouldn't be surprised if Rockhold GnP's him out. Vitor was whooping that ass early on.


Cerrone might be approaching my top 10 p4p list....he made Makdessi do the Chris Weber. Makdessi was fighting well, though...and on short notice no less.

That Arlovski/Browne was WILDNESS...I actually wouldn't mind an eventual Arlovski/Werdum rematch....for the title

The prelims disappointed....all in all, great night for the UFC.

some of y'all want to discredit everything he does, no props for beating andy/machida/vitor/everyone else, okay...so what exactly, other than not being a pasty white american, does weidman have to do to earn your respect? i mean, if you don't "like" him, fine...but come on. the guy is clearly legit...on the feet, on the ground, whatever.

i didn't see that much of the prelims but this card looked awesome on paper and from what i saw, it actually delivered for the most part.

Middleweight isn't exactly the best division at the moment. Silva already ran through the entire division before Weidman caught him and Belfort, Machida etc were only recently have cats like Rockhold started to make noise. Machida hasn't been any good since he lost the LHW title, Silva was a victim of his own cockiness, Belfort was a cheat and i think the build up for this fight killed him, Bisping can't seem to get over that hurdle and actually fight for a title or beat anyone of note. the division just isn't brimming with talent in the same way LW, WW or BW are. there's some great fighters but it's not like LW where there are several fighters that could become champ at any given time.

I asked because I thought I saw some pretty clear punches to the back of Browne's head from Arlowski.

If it happens while you're moving around and it's obviously incidental then they usually look past it. If it's intentional then it's illegal. The whole 12-6 elbows is just a stupid rule from years ago that some fukkwit on the commission saw in a movie and thought it would straight up kill someone so it's illegal.

Soccer kicks/knees to the head of a grounded opp should be legal too IMO. At least knees while on the ground should be, this bullshyt about 3 points of contact leads to what we have now, cats wasting time & bullshyttin by just leaning over & putting their hand on the ground so they can't get knees to the face.

So, theoretically, if somebody is on his back in defensive position (with legs up) and somehow the opp managed to go past the legs, knees to the head are OK then ?

Actually I would favor Wideman. My point was the result of Vitor and Rockhold holds no weight in light of the difference the TRT made on Vitor.

I dunno about that, but I have no idea the effects TRT had on Vitor vs. the fact taht Wideman was able to absorb most of those punches and take Vitor down , while Rockhold succumbed.

thanks for the Kindergarten analogy, I asked you a question and you have no answers except this? We all know styles make fights and it's even moreso in MMA but at least come with something you've seen in their fights that makes you beieve Rockhold can beat Weidman.

nah that's a grounded opponent. but it also applies to 3 points of contact so if someone is standing and puts their hand on the ground that's 3 points of contact (2 feet & 1 hand)

if they're like this you can't knee/kick to the head because 2 feet/2 knees is 3+ points of contact

not sure what your argument is? There'a lot of C.W. haters in this thread, just saying a bunch of random shyt right now. I said he's the best at middleweight and there's no one else that you can really say is better and you give me a list of guys he's beaten and other reasons why others aren't on the top of their game.

i'm just saying everyone is making him this "Brazilian killer" when the guys he's beaten are past their prime. the division has been lackluster for a while since Silva was king. he's done well, he's a good fighter but personally i just don't like him and i think he has been the champ in a time when the division is going through a change that's all.
