Casting him in top gun maverick was a genius move. That movie and this one is going to make this man a star. He's the kind of actor that would be huge in the 60s-90s and I think people who grew up watching movies from back then instantly get reminded of those days when they see this man cooking. He can kill it as a protagonist or an antagonist.
I watched the original twister before watching this one. In the original one black people basically didn't exist. I like that they actually diversified the cast.
Also liked the inversion of the "professional vs amateur" conflict. The original movie had the leads as amateurs while the antagonists were well funded, well equipped with the latest technology. I liked the soundtrack too.
I wished there were more practical effects. Loved that about the original. The practical fx helped the original hold up even though the CG looks like a ps2 game by today's standards. I don't know if in 2044 this one will still hold up.
Actors in this movie were good. I think people's memories of the original elevated their performances. It was really only just helen hunt, bill paxton and phillip seymor hoffman, cary elwes. Rest of the cast barely got enough lines. Really suggest people watch the original again.

Glenn Powell was just doing a Matthew McCoughnahay impression. Daisy Edgar Jones is just a bland generic pretty whatever chick. Anthony Ramos is unsightly as always. Just had deja vu from the first one the whole time. Turns out there aren't many ways to make a tornado chase feel different. Worst soundtrack in the history of film. Twang overload.

they took the first movie, pulled it apart, then changed some stuff around. Im sure Warner Brothers got a big ass check just so they could do that, then got Speilberg in to play script doctor, Universal was just throwing money around. Then added a country music soundtrack
familiar formula with all these "legasquels" it just didn't do anything for me. hard pressed to tell you what the highlight or the standout sequence is.
i guess the open, just seeing those people fly away. i thought the side crew was severely lacking too. had a bunch of up and coming "i've seen that dude/chick before" actors in the roles, and none of them stoodout. they got the kid who was good in Nope and just said, "just talk like a fukkin excited yokel. that's your character."
