That's not why they're doing this. They're doing it I'm assuming so people won't eat up so much bandwidth while streaming off of these free sites. HD video takes up a lot of bandwidth, they don't want everybody with a subscription slamming their shyt.

I've never had an issue streaming countless other sources of content. Just Youtube in 1080p would always be choppy. Now I know why.

:ohhh:

ya u probly right breh, i dont even know what all that computer lingo really means:yeshrug: i was just gettin that vibe from what i was reading in the thread lol

@murdock Before I use this, do you know if my access to the internet will be disabled for a little bit? I dont wanna use this and end up being blocked from the internet all together :comeon:

it won't stop your internet at all. you are just simply blocking a cache, an ip address

how can this be done on the router so i can watch faster on my PS3?

I'm assuming there's no way to fix this on the PS3 itself, right?

what command did you use at first?

this command: How to stop YouTube sucking (Windows guide) | Mitch's Space

or this command: How to stop Time Warner Cable sucking at Youtube : technology

you gotta delete the command for the first one you tried. the delete commands are right under which one you tried first
I used the first then deleted the rule and tried with the other IPS. I replaced it with this command. I'm not sure if I did the IP range right. or should it be 173.194.55.1:173.194.55.255?

netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="MITCHRIBARYTUBE" dir=in action=block remoteip=173.194.55.1,173.194.55.255 enable=yes

tried, no dice :to:

I saw someone post and say that they may use different caches for different part of the countries. this shyt is wack. how am I gonna pay for cable and they throttle my youtube speeds. My youtube buffers faster if I use a proxy.

I just did this and it hasn't really made a difference for me. Do I need to restart my computer in order for it to take effect?

I tried it twice previously and it looks like I entered it incorrectly before I got it right. Does that make a difference too? I already closed the window when I got it wrong and then reopened it.
