we cant rebound, we cant defend, and our offense is predictable. teams are pnr us to death getting open shots and at this point pacers game proved that any nba caliber team can exploit our defensive scheme and get shots off. a lot of this is effort and maturity. lavine and lauri have not taken the step we needed for them to take to improve this team. and a lot of this is on boylen.

im not tossing in the entire season yet, but the worst part of what i feared when we chose to blow things up is coming into fruition. this core is beginning to look like it will need breaking up sooner than later, which pushes for yet another reset which means we starring down the possibility of going 3-5 more years of bad basketball trying to build through the draft, because jimmy deal was supposed to set us up to move the tank along rapidly, and we are not getting close to that kind of package for a lavine or lauri deal.

overall, right now, we look screwed.

To me it looks like its young team lackin veteran leader :yeshrug: a player who can lead by example every night , and isnt just avoice in the locker room but 1 who steps on the court and delivers with his actions , along with his experience

:picard: 1 that management could have easily got for 7 to 8k per season :francis::hubie:

1 that could have mentored the Squads future PG

Rose being here wasn't gonna stop Boylen from running a 3 guard lineup with a Lauri/Kornet front court or stop him from running a defensive scheme that constantly gives up open 3s.

Boylen got an extension and just said fukk it. I guess since he's already got job security, he doesn't need to try to be a decent coach.

He did nothing to earn that extension. So it's pretty much more of the same from him.

I wish Jerry was my boss. Be shytty at my job...... Receive a promotion.

He's not entirely wrong here. Players do need to play harder, but I find it funny how doesn't seem to take any blame for himself.

1. The players are not the ones drawing up defensive plays to double team the ballhandler

2. It's also not the players fault that he keep using Kornet and the 3 PG lineup. That completely falls on him as a coach.

This. They couldn't even tank right. Let alone rebuild.
This was the part of the rebuild where we were supposed to show progression and ready to take the next step. Right now it's looking like we are going to have to reset once again but it will be more difficult because we had the return for Jimmy to kick off our rebuild, we not getting close to that kind of package for anyone on our roster. This the worst part of the rebuild and the part I feared when we chose to go this route smh

I think a coaching change can change this some but even with one the ceiling on this roster at best is a middle of the pack east team that might see a 2nd rd. We traded jimmy because we didnt want to be that and now we even worst off.

I agree the effort has to come from the players , but I also believe players lose hope on the coaches schemes when it doesn't result in winning. How many games the starters going to build double digit leads just to watch the coach sub in a rotation that consistently loses it?

The start that Miami has gotten off to is what I was looking forward to seeing this year.

Jimmy missed their first 3 games, scored 5 points in another game, and they still are 5-1 with rookies playing big minutes and a young team that just plays hard and defends.

:snoop:

That's a prime example of an organization having a culture that resonates from the top down. This team is talented, but not talented enough to overcome incompetent coaching. These games are like train wrecks that we're all waiting to see play out. High chance that any close game in the 4th is going to be an L.

Facts @GoldenGlove

And the fact Boylen is talkin about Effort from players under 10 games in is beyond worrying

Whats the excuse for that
.. well actually that is where coaching comes into play .. these guys should be wanting to go the extra mile not just for themselves but the coach they playin under :mjlol:

The fact he said u cant coach effort .:hhh:..is kinda a indictment on him as a coach:yeshrug:

( up skilling is 1 part , getting them to buy into your system is a another ,but your going to need to sometimes light a fire ,or inspire players to play harder ...wtf is boylen talkin about:francis:)

Sounds like he's just not taking any accountability.

True the players have to play, but the small lineups he's putting out there are directly resulting into the squad getting dominated on the glass. They drafted an athletic big that can help with that and he's glued to the bench after looking good prior to the season starting. I never had any faith in Boylen, I was just hoping that the key guys improved enough to win despite dude. And obviously, that hasn't been the case.

If Zach doesn't hit those ridiculous stepback 3s against the Pistons they lose that game.

placing the blame on the players while absolving yourself...won't be but too long before another Bulls coach loses the locker room again :francis:

We called this last year.

Slowing the pace way the fukk down, running the offense through Robin then telling the media that the players need to play harder.:beli:

Some find it easier to blame the players when the coach is doing nothing but screaming play harder.
