I haven't liked a single ECW PPV as a whole, they're really one match cards. But with that being said I'm only up to 1998, and maybe they pick up late '98/99 IDK
Heatwave '98 is a great ppv. It was my first exposure to ECW.

It's prob their best PPV ever. Judge for yourself.

Some of the extra stuff doesn't age well, but the matches were all good.

Just watched Wrestlepalooza 98 and my feelings on it definitely changed from the original viewing. They really tried to sell Douglas/Snow as some wrestling classic with the boys in the lockeroom coming out to all watch the match then lift both men on their shoulders afterwards. That match was sloppy and anticlimactic smh. Heyman did what he could with the crap he was given, but the man really tried to force certain things down our throats (pause)

Wait a sec. Network actually has TWO bootlegs of Voodoo Child. The one they use for him in WCW isn't the same one that they use in his 2002 WWE run.

So, i rewatched over months the entire nitro run from hall debut => sting joins the wolfpack

I just started raw from the night after mania xiv and will go until probably mania x7

RANDOM NOTES from nitro
  • Hall was so much more important than he got credit for...the product PLUMMETED when he was shelved
  • The cruiserweights were CDQ status, with the exception of crazy highspots and the finishes got pops. You all need to manage your excpectations for the current cruiserweights.
  • Jericho was so much better than i rememebered. Him and goldberg were the kings of late 97-mid 98. Amazing.
  • Goldberg matches were entertaining as fukk in 98 (about 50 wins in). The raven match was dope as shyt.
  • Perry saturn was over as fukk, and had great matches. I loved the eliminators, but i didnt realize he was over with the crowd
  • The giant sucked...
  • Super calo was legit the worst wrestler on tv
  • SAVAGE was not only over but damn, he WAS INCREDIBLE...i missed a lot because i had NO INTEREST in piper in 98. He was money, and ACTUALLY FORMED THE WOLFPAC; something forgotten. His promos were fire then, and his fueds with hogan, ddp, and piper were gold
  • Kevin sullivan...abhorrent
  • Syxx didnt get his due...screwed by hogan for sure
  • The booker t / wild pegasus feud was amazing...complete 50/50 booking with CLEAN finishes, as well as both LOOKING STRONGER as it went along. Booker t was a real star during this time. And FIT FINLAY become a midcard star because of a single win over him.
  • That buff bagwell injury was TERRIBLE
  • Most over, in order, during this time period (nash debut => sting joins wolfpac)
    • Hogan
    • Nash
    • Goldberg (yes, he was way hotter than sting when he got going)
    • Sting
    • Hall
    • Booker t
    • Ddp
    • Savage
    • Piper
    • Luger
    • Jericho
    • Flair
  • Least over as compared to their push
    • GLACIER
    • buff bagwell
    • MONGO MCMICHAEL
    • Konnan (the wolfpac run is when he gets red hot tho)
    • Kevin Greene
    • Juventud guererra

Also, one of my favorite angles was in Toronto with Goldberg and Bret and Bret having the steel plate chest protector
Nah, that was late 98 or even 99. Ill go back to that, adter this raw binge session. I might go back to wcw after KOTR99
