TSC Evaluation #3: Goldberg

I gave him a 4. The overall consensus from most of the respondents is that he was average to below average in most categories (i think that's being far too charitable), with heavy weight placed on the fact that at his peak he was one of the biggest stars of all time. Similarly, Sable at her peak was a huge ratings draw, and neck and neck with Austin in terms of star power for a spell, and I damn sure wouldnt rank her high as a performer either.
There's so little longevity to Goldberg's ascension, and even less substance. Goldberg blew up in the spring/summer of '98, and by the spring/summer '99 he meant little to fans or economic metric measures. His popularity seemed to be powered almost completely by timing, and the fact that he looked like Steve Austin with a better build.
What I hold against him most of all is the extreme recklessness that defined his career. His short career was throughly blemished by all the performers he injured --- the least of which Bret Hart who he damn near killed on impact with that ridiculous kick to the head.

I was gonna go with 7.5 but rounded up to 8. When he came on the scene he was OVER! After a while even his bad ass persona got kind of old and his lack of mic skills & personality became more visible
