Goldberg is definitely a legend but a 10 would be someone who covers all the aspects of a great wrestler and has the resume to back it up.

I think there is too much emphasis put on technical skill in a fixed match.
Does it emotionally engage you, if it does, thats all the skill required. Everything is just a game and superfluous as long as the performer hooks the audience and Goldberg hooked the audience in wrestling and outside of it. Thats all the skill he needed IMHO.

Forgettable only matches I enjoyed with Goldberg was his shyt with Raven,DDP and Hall hitting him with the fukking taser so Kev could jackknife him to a Godly pop at Starrcade 98. He ended HitGOAT career and his WWE run was a bust I blame Hunter more for that.

you know something..that brings me back to his infamous match with regal..the one where regal semi shot on him and made him work for the win instead of squash

a match like that should have prolly killed his mystique because he looked green at times going through the chain wrestling spots with regal..for some reason though I was intrigued by it lol

Goldberg is in that list of wrestlers that I think had enough raw talent and athleticism that he should have been more than he was wrestling wise.

He was a legit homegrown WCW draw..a rarity past the mid 90s and was super over. Even when he went to the WWE

His gimmick was simple and straight to the point. He had the IT factor.

Ringwork...his matches were of the Ultimate Warrior & Sid variety. A long Goldberg match (more than 5 mins) were more miss than hit. He was also careless and sloppy at times. Ending Bret Hart's career was not cool. but could be carried to a good one. His match with Brock was one of the most disappointing matches that I ever watched. I was legit expecting something good :francis:

Wasn't a talker other than his one catchphrase which was money :pachaha:

He's hard to grade really because his stint was so short..but he was too fukking over for me to say he was average. I'd give him a very weak 6.

He's at a 6/7 stage just for being as over as he was he was legit 1 or 1A with prime Austin in 98 as far as overness goes. WCW just went into the shytter so fast after that I have a hard time ranking that era because everyone in WCW outside of a few were just chasing checks at that point. WWE run was pointless it came and went too bad we never got Goldberg vs Austin

Halloween Havoc. :wow:

Always looking for excuses to start Goldberg chants with the brehs. :wow:

Could only be taken down with a cattle prod. :wow:

Spearing Russo through the cage. :wow:

Spearing Jericho literally out of his boots :wow:

Promos/mic work: 2.5 - Zero memorable promos but he wasn't a talker.

Matches: 7 - Goat squash match wrestler, even though I hate squashes. Athletic as hell and surprisingly nimble for his size. Has a few matches (such as the DDP one) that are better than they have any right to be. He held his own but the match had to be his style for him to contribute.

Personality/Gimmick: 10. He was intense as hell and made his role believable. At the height of "this ain't your daddy's wrestling" era, him (or his booking) made you believe he was legit the baddest man in wrestling.

Overall:. May have a top 15 overall peak, but was not great enough inside or outside of the ring to be mentioned next to the tier 1 or tier 2 legends. Would easily be a 10 if we were only talking about impact, but he's not that raw in the ring (don't ask me how) He's a solid 7 overall and 99% guys would love to have his career.

He was so over a loser like Regal trying to take him out couldn't stop him when he intentially sandbagged a match and ended up getting himself fired.

Thats how good a draw Goldberg was, can't teach that.

Never moved the needle for me.

Had 2-3 moves, no mic skills. :manny:

Star power was a 10, but everything else brings him down. I'm giving him a 6.

I remember as a kid I didn't give a damn about nwo. I was all in for Goldberg. Only reason why I watched.

I basically agree with everyone else. Goldberg's ring and mic skills were trash but his presence, character, entrance, and entire package was a complete 100 that can never be made again.

I'll give him a 7 to be fair.

:blessed: one of the best of all time as far as bringing the casual fans in, sure his in ring wasn't the best or on the mic but he was so believable as an unstoppable monster

With that being said I'll give him a 9 since I'm saving the 10 for the icons like Tommy Dreamer :win:

Nice thread idea I hope they continue :salute:

On a side note, I'll add him for one of the future topics. It should be an interesting thread. :skip:
