Breh, he just stood on the sparks and inhaled that smoke man. Then came out with the punches...and we can't forget that the music brought to us a GOAT song...

Mic work/promos 3

-Personality/gimmicks 8

-Ring work (along with some of your favorite matches/feuds) 5

I actually REALLY liked his buildup and squashes because every now and then his opp would get some offense in...vs JERRY FLYNN in Jan 98 (drew blood on Goldberg and was chain wrestling) vs meng (one of the 5 times he faced him) vs REGAL who was damn near shooting, every now and then they were dope.

-Overall rating (which doesn't have to be an average of the above scores) 7

A soft 7 tbh. He has two of the goat power moves but actually COULD do more (you see random mma type shyt like rolling armbars in his early matches). I think his wwe run was underrated too.

He was a BIG DEAL and was a breath of fresh air on nitro during late 97/early 98 when nWo started to get stale asf.

He was a video game character IRL. Very limited but strong moveset. WCW booked him to perfection from the very start, he was a nobody that became a legend. He was a squash perfectionist but I don't think there's a wrestling that got me more pumped for a three minute match. From his entrance to the sparks to the growl to the spear, he's a legend.

Who needs mic skills when you can deadlift Bam Bam Bigelow and throw the members of Kronik around?

His DDP feud is probably his best match, next to his match with Sting. Damn shame he got buried in the E.

7.

Bonus. His best spear was done to Christian.

-Mic work/promos: 2 just for "Who's next?" which got over huge as a catchphrase. Other than that, he shouldn't have talked ever

-Personality/gimmicks: 9 One of the best/most memorable characters ever. His entrance was GOAT calibre.

-Ring work (along with some of your favorite matches/feuds): 5 Can't say he was good per se, but he had some of the best looking moves I've ever seen. Them Gorilla press combination slams were incredible. He might have the GOAT "power wrestler" moveset.

-Overall rating (which doesn't have to be an average of the above scores):

At his peak, he was a 9 or 10. Outside of that initial year, he's like a 5 at best. I think overall a 7 sounds about right.

He was so over a loser like Regal trying to take him out couldn't stop him when he intentially sandbagged a match and ended up getting himself fired.

Thats how good a draw Goldberg was, can't teach that.
Regal was a bytch for that.

I gave him a 8. He wasn't a great wrestler, fighter, or even a talker but he was beliveable.

After learning more about Bruno this past couple of years, I would compare Goldbergs mystic to Bruno, because for brehs who didn't watch him at the time it probably doesn't make sense. But to most of the people who were watching he just had it.

Guess I'll say 7-7.5/10. He had an an intimidating presence about him, solid in the ring in relation to his experience, though reckless. He came along at the perfect time and was exactly what WCW needed. He couldn't and didn't really talk much, but unlike some recent Roman Reigns, they never stuck a mic in Goldberg's hand and told him to talk for 15 minutes. He was short and to the point, and just kicked ass, and that's all I wanted from him. Awesome entrance, very believable finishers and just overall felt like a legit badass. Should have never turned heel in WCW, and he should have won the WWE title at Elimination Chamber instead of a fat bloated injured HHH that just set on the ground for 20 minutes until it was time to use his sledgehammer. The WWE also didn't do Goldberg any favors vs The Rock either, though Goldberg was to blame for his reception during that feud as well. Rock was heel, but with the WWE so key on making WCW wrestlers look second rate, there was gonna be no way the fans would be fully behind Goldberg, but Goldberg also didn't have to be a jerk to fans around that time either. I do respect Goldberg for getting in the industry, leaving a big mark, and getting out though, instead of having Vince/WWE destroy his legacy like they've done others. Goldberg wrestled for only 7 years, was over as shyt besides the stupid heel turn and HHH killing off some of his steam in late 03 for almost the majority of that time, and was featured the entire time. Pretty sure The Rock is the only person with a greater output in that same time span (Austin had been around forever before becoming Stone Cold, so I don't count him).

He came. He saw. He conquered...You know the rest. As a life long fan of wrestling, never seen anyone come in and make an impact that fast, except for maybe the Big Show's first run. He was legit and looked the part. 7.5 out of 10. Everything was perfectly aligned for GB at that time.
