Man I was such a mark for Bret Hart as a kid....he really could do no wrong in my eyes. But as time went along and I got deeper into Pro-Wrestling and shyt I had to start looking at it a little more closer

I give Bret a 9...

His ring work was legendary. Bret has multiple CLASSIC matches in his career especially in WWF. Period. He has classics with Shawn, Austin, Taker, etc.

His mic work...ehhhh...Bret never used to give me the chills that HBK, Austin, or Rock or Flair gave you on the mic. That wasn't his character. In some ways it worked to his detriment but he did get his point across the few times.

Gimmick? Bret really was a mark for himself and we can see that now if you take a step back and take a look at the shyt objectively. His gimmick was iconic YES but you can't deny that compared to some of his contemporaries, he was kinda bland.

I'm still torn on the Montreal Screwjob to this day. YES...Vince should have given the man a little more respect. He deserved it. He stayed when motherfukkers were leaving left and right. He was damn near the face of the company. But at the same time, it's Cokeboys company. This is the price you pay when you're an employee and not an employer. That said, his years in WCW cut short a career that could still be going on right now, to this day.

He is the HitGOAT though....I would'nt be mad at anyone who had him in their Top 5

Also, Bret was real as fukk. He always kept it a buck outside the squared circle.

Hard to argue against a 10

He ultimately became a damn good promo which is all you could really hold against him. And if you remember young Bret who wore the sunglasses to hide his deer in the headlights look you know how far he came

Dude sold an ass whooping like few before him. I thought he was gonna die during those buckles to the chest :picard:

Plus Bret could hand out a solid looking ass whooping when it came time to turn on the mean streak.

King of the Ring 93 alone showed dude could work with anyone

-Mic work/promos - Bret was perfectly acceptable on the mic...no frills no nonsense promos..1997 was his banner year on that level..a solid 8

-Personality/gimmicks - he was the hitman....the excellence of execution..had a dope theme song and look (:dame: for good measure)...very much into his character...sometimes too much to his detriment but it was legendary..give him a 9.5

-Ring work (along with some of your favorite matches/feuds) bret was an old school worker...could tell a story in the ring and his moves were crisp..sharpshooter is one of the GOAT finishers..i always found it funny how Bret would rip some one for being routine but he himself had is five moves of doom lol...had classic matches with perfect, bam bam, undertaker, british bulldog, jerry lawler, lafitte, roddy piper, steve austin, xpac, and yes even shawn michaels..of course he had classics with anvil as hart foundation with nasty boys, british bulldogs, strike force, etc etc..classic with owen hart both as a team against steiner brothers and against each other...wm10 is one of the greatest openers in wrestling history mention of course the insanity that was canadian stampede..bret was the man..full monty

-Overall rating (which doesn't have to be an average of the above scores) Bret Hart is one of the greatest wrestlers of all time..its a shame WCW wasted him 90 percent of the time with absolute bullshyt and when he was finally hitting some stride he got his career ended by some bullshyt...like someone said..the previous generation would not put him over and he was able to return the favor and give the rub to the likes of steve austin and the rock..he had more to give in the ring..but he is also a man who has seen pain..his family all gone..stroke to compound the concussion..im glad he seems to be a happy man in retirement and content..give him a solid 9
