I used to go to a barbershop that was drop-in and I would sit in any chair. As most of the barbers in there were good.

The thing that would chide me. There was a jamo barber in there he gave me a good cut and gave me his card.

Next time I needed a trim I set up a time and day with him. He was 40 mins late. By that time I was already in the guy next to his seat halfway through my trim it was a white boy but his skills were even better. He didn't take it personally but going back there I saw his timekeeping was not great. You'd have a 10.30 waiting for half an hour then the guy after that also turns up so now you have a backlog of people waiting for you.

Some of these barbers need to realise some of us don't have time to wait around.

My current barber is amazing. I can reserve a time with him on the website and only once has he had to change times and he gave me a heads-up text a whole day before. Now that is good service.

You’re new to a city and you get cut a couple times by the same person but after the second cut you realize this ain’t it,

However there are other barbers in the shop.

How do you let him know in a civil way that you won’t be returning to his chair the next time

Or do you just cancel the shop all together to avoid that awkwardness?
Nah son that’s the type of shyt you know you shouldn’t even put yourself in lmao just avoid that bro these nikkas nowadays wierdos. Might kill you over that shyt. Yikes! I’m literally shaking right now!

It's always funny to me when basic customer service is marveled upon:mjlol:.

First time going to a new shop, I didn’t have an appointment. Of course the nikka with the open chair (3rd chair) was available. Already knew what time is was but I needed a cut bad (baldgang). Decent cut, not great but I would be back. Whole time I’m watching the other barbers and they are so much better.

Then dude didn’t show up to an appointment. 2nd chair had an opening. I hopped in, got a great cut and now I’m like damn. I gotta figure this out. 3rd chair was inconsistent and hands smelled like weed all the time. I want the 2nd chair now. I’m just thinking please don’t let dude walk in. Whole time I’m chatting, having a good time keking with the owner (1st chair). Find out he’s from the same area I’m from in Southern Missouri. Now I’m thinking damn, I want to be in 1st chair. But I can’t switch barbers, so I’m still going to 3rd chair. But the final straw was he missed an appointment, but instead of going to the other barbers, I was bytch and went to a whole different shop.

After a few months of going to the new shop, my old barber, 3rd chair, shows up and I’m over here looking like :lupe:.Thinking you not gonna have me trying to sneak around. I’m going back to the other shop, to #2 chair.:hubie:

#2 started becoming inconsistent. Showing up late, then telling me he needs to get someone ahead of me during my time slot. One day it’s me and #1 by ourselves talking. I’m complaining about #2. He said he wanted me in his chair :dame:. They started having fights in there, every time I’m there some dude we called killer from New Orleans was there talking about some new body. I was taking my son to get cut and didn’t want him around them. So you guessed it, found whole new shop for my son. Took me about a month to switch over to the new shop once he had an opening. Now I’m there every week. No stress, no waiting. I’m in and out and no c00nery.:troll:

breh that episode hit so close to home for me. In my late teens I was loyal to my barber. Cut every other week with a line in-between. Tipped nice every time. After a minute my kindness was taken for weakness. Asking if MFers could cut me. Answering the phone when I'm getting a cut. Bumming bogies off me. I could tell this MF I was in a rush; still take his sweet ass time for a Ming skin fade... then he offered me some bud as compensation. Tell me how this old as bum proceeded to hand me a clipped blunt. I FLIPPED on him in front of the whole shop and I musta been like 18...him 40+ easily. After that I hate to say it but I started fukking with a shop in a different neighborhood. By the time I was 23 my Spanish friend taught me how to cut myself with a mirror and I've never turned back. Only go now to lace the seeds but fukk that episode is GOAT shyt :russ:

I’ve done this once years ago and crazy enough it was ja morants dad, Tee, when he used to cut that was my new barber. Went like 4 times to the dude next to him then one week I came in and sat down but Tee motioned that I was next. I think he got me mixed up and thought I was his regular. Whatever the case I never went back to the other dude.

Just go the the barbershop and wait for an open chair that's not the old guy. You like him take his contacts. If not try someone else. :yeshrug: Unless it's some appointment only shyt.

I could never . My barber was out for a few months because he tore his ACL, I had a legitimate reason to go to another chair. F that, ended adding 10 more minutes to my barber commute and went to another city .

The dude next to him was Dominican and he was nice with them clippers too, but I couldn’t bring myself to do it .

This happened to me....I was new to the neighborhood and went to the first avail. Dude was aight but I was peeping everybody else's skills who were on point and there was one who really stood out. One day after about 4 months of going to him this bama fukked my taper up something awful and I said thats it. I told the other barber what the deal is and kept it a buck with him. I felt bad for homey but he needed to get his skills up....to keep his confidence up I would bring my 6 yo son and let him cut his hair but the whole time I'm looking at him like "don't fukk up pleighboi this your last chance". He made the most of those opportunities.
