The Republicans did block the original law which barred White farmers from getting it, but the new law states you can only get the benefits if you can prove the federal government discriminated against you. 75% of the funds distributed so far have gone to Black farmers and the rest is probably going to Native Americans and Latinos. Little is going to White farmers.

Everything in your country has an adverse effect on politics in Canada. So if the US falls into tailspin, Canada isn't far behind. Our right wing rejects are no different that yours, and often wave the American flag proudly. Trump is their god as well. A border doesn't stop mentalities.

The US also sets the precedent for how minorities are treated. I have a disabled, soon to be 4 year old daughter. The person who runs my province is a Trump wannabe who treats people like her like she shouldn't exist. If Trump wins, and things like project 2025 are implemented, the ripples will be felt by people like her here first. More stigmatization.
