Did Trump Just Commit Another Gag Order Violation?​

Trump may have violated his gag order again when he made an apparent reference to prosecutor Matthew Colangelo, who served as a senior official at the Justice Department prior to joining the Manhattan district attorney's office, according to The New York Times.

The gag order prevents Trump from talking about members of the prosecution's team other than Bragg.

While Trump did not name Colangelo, he told reporters "a lead person from the DOJ is running this trial."

Judge Juan Merchan has so far fined Trump for 10 gag order violations brought up by the prosecution, and recently warned Trump he could face jail time if he continued violating the order.

Trump Enters Court With Too Many People​

The former president entered the courtroom around 9:20 a.m. wearing a long red tie. As in previous days this week, he brought a lot of people with him — too many. There were not enough seats for his entourage, forcing at least one person to leave the main courtroom.

Blanche Indicates Trump Won't Be Testifying​

In the back and forth about whether and how photos of Trump and Schiller together the night of Oct. 24 would get into evidence was Trump lawyer Todd Blanche, telling the prosecution and the judge that he had one witness waiting outside and one more “short one,” and that would be the end of their case.

In other words, Blanche will almost certainly not be calling on Trump to testify.

Trump was sitting there beside Blanche, and his time on the stand wouldn't be “short.”

Recall that last week Blanche told Merchan that whether Trump would testify was a decision that still had to be made.

Judge Clears Court Over Trump Witness Behavior​

After Costello had been on stand about 10 minutes and Merchan had sustained numerous objections from the prosecution about the scope of the questions Emile Bove was asking, Merchan asked the jury to leave and lectured Costello about “proper decorum” in his courtroom.

"I’m the only one that can strike testimony in this court," he said.

"You don’t give me side-eye, and you don’t roll your eyes. You understand that? You understand that?" he continued.

Costello had been audibly sighing and saying "jeez" as Merchan cut off his answers.

Robert Costello Says Michael Cohen Never Paid Him​

Cohen testified that he never formally hired Costello to represent him. But he met with Costello and spoke to him many times about his legal situation in mid-2018.

“At some point did your firm seek payment from Michael Cohen?” Bove asked. Costello said yes.

“Did he pay?” Bove asked.

“No, he did not.”

“Are you aware of efforts by your firm of trying to collect payment?”

“No, they didn’t sue."

Second Witness Says Michael Cohen Was ‘Suicidal’​

“He was suicidal that day and acting very manic,” Costello said of Cohen the day of their April 17, 2018, meeting at the Regency Hotel. At the time, Cohen had not yet decided to cooperate with federal prosecutors.

Costello said that Cohen told him that, two nights before, he had gone to “the roof of the Regency Hotel and he was going to jump off and kill himself because he couldn’t handle the pressure.” Hoffinger then asked whether Costello told the grand jury in this case that Cohen was “acting like a drama queen.” He said he couldn’t say for sure.Earlier, former Stormy Daniels attorney Keith Davidson said he believed Cohen might kill himself in mid-2018 as he dealt with the intense pressure of a federal investigation for his dealings with Trump.

The jurors have now been excused for the day.

Costello Pushes Back On ‘Backchannel’ Characterization, Is Confronted By His Own Email​

Costello pushed back when Hoffinger recalled how he pitched himself to Michael Cohen as a “backchannel” to Rudy Giuliani and Trump during the time Cohen was deciding what to do about the federal investigation against him in 2018. Then Hoffinger brought up an email Costello sent Cohen in April 2018. It read: “Michael, I just spoke to Rudy Giuliani and told him I was on your team. Rudy was thrilled … he said thank you for opening this backchannel of communication.”

Asked whether the email spoke for itself, Costello said no, and offered to explain what he called the surrounding circumstances.

“That’s alright,” Hoffinger said, prompting stifled laughter from the public gallery. A court officer ordered: “Quiet.”

Giuliani and Costello go way back — he affirmed he’s known the former New York City mayor for some 50 years. Giuliani even attended Costello’s wedding, he said.

Fun fact: Giuliani’s son, Andrew Giuliani, is seated at the back of the courtroom today wearing a belt that has “FJB” (short for “fukk Joe Biden”) emblazoned on it.

‘Your Honor, The Defense Rests’​

Merchan explained how the rest of the trial would work after the defense rested its case.

“At the end of the day, I think the best thing we can do is to adjourn now until next Tuesday,” the judge told the jury.

He said that “summations will not be quick,” and because he did not wish to split closing arguments up over two days, asked the jurors to consider working late on Tuesday. He also asked them to work next Wednesday, when he hopes jury deliberations will start.

After the jury took their leave, Trump then exited the courtroom, trailed by his entourage.

You literally can not even make this shyt up. Some of the testimony that came out in this case is so ridiculous that you have to wonder if Trump is telling his lawyers what to say.

Yesterday they were talking about a $50,000.00 payment that Trump gave Cohen to pay the fake polling firm. Cohen acknowledge that it only cost $20,000.00 to make the payment and he did not give the $30,000.00 back to Trump. So the defense said that you stole the money correct? Cohen said yes. The only problem with that is that defense theory of the case is that Cohen was just being paid fees for his legal services; so if Cohen was required to reimburse the $30,000.00 then that is not a true fee for legal service which is what Cohen and the prosecutors have always stated. So the goofy defense lawyers actually verified what Cohen and the prosecutors were saying.
