:mjlol: this is why they're investigating NPR and PBS right now. You can't have real facts floating around discrediting their story. They need idiots to keep believing this is all about Fentanyl

Canada as a country believes it. Before Trump threatened them with tariffs recently they were already addressing the fentanyl problem.

News release

December 17, 2024 – Ottawa, Canada
Today, the Honourable Dominic LeBlanc, Minister of Finance and Intergovernmental Affairs, along with the Honourable Marc Miller, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship and the Honourable Ya'ara Saks, Minister of Mental Health and Addictions and Associate Minister of Health, released Canada’s Border Plan. Backed by an investment of $1.3 billion and built around five pillars, this plan will bolster border security, strengthen our immigration system and contribute to ensuring Canada's future prosperity.

Detecting and disrupting the fentanyl trade

The Government of Canada will increase support to law enforcement agencies in detecting, intercepting and addressing fentanyl and precursor chemicals by adding artificial intelligence and imaging tools that will further help detect illegal drugs before they enter Canada.

As well, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) will train and deploy new canine teams to intercept illegal drugs. The agency currently has over 80 detector dog teams located at various ports of entry across Canada. CBSA will also deploy new chemical detection tools at high-risk ports of entry.

Health Canada will create a new Canadian Drug Profiling Centre to support 2,000 investigations a year, and expand capacity at regional labs.

By launching a new Chemical Precursor Risk Management Unit, Health Canada will be able to provide better insight into precursor chemicals and distribution channels, enhance monitoring and surveillance and enable timely law enforcement action.

In addition, Health Canada will accelerate the regulatory process for banning precursors so that border and law enforcement can take swift action to prevent their illegal importation and use.

They said they're addressing fentanyl in their own country. Not some extra effort needed to prevent it from entering the US. Trump and them saying loads of fentanyl is flooding into the US from Canada. Canada doesn't believe it because both Canada and US data has shown that it's false.

43 pounds were found at ALL northern borders in the last 4 years. 23,000 pounds of fent was found at the Southern border over the same period.

Not in the same or even close to a similar realm. Just lies and bullshyt to keep his pink bytches happy.

This might be the headline, but the most important thing here is the attack on gun smuggling over here.

Mfkers should be asking why so many of its citizens need to numb themselves. But god forbid the U.S do any real introspection. It so much easier when you have brown boogie men and now even white ones.

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) says it seized 4.9 kilograms of fentanyl on its side of the U.S.-Canada border between Jan. 1 to Oct. 31, 2024. The agency says that's a 775 per cent increase from the same time period in 2023. 4.1 kilograms was intercepted outbound this year before it could be smuggled toward the Netherlands, they said in an online breakdown.

t-dot till they bury me
Can you help me understand this chart? Explain it like I’m retarded. :jbhmm:
In 2024, Fentanyl seizures at the CAN/US, US/MEX border:

CAN border ~ 4% of the total seizures
MEX border ~ 96% of the total seizures

So you could summize:

1) Sneaking into US from CAN is far easier than from MEX as relatively nothing is getting caught (:troll:)
Or
2) US' fentanyl issues stem from the southern border

Sentiment is the same. Canadians are switching up habits and eventually new partnerships will be made. This won't be forgotten.
Yep.

Trump is basically doing with the tariffs what Republicans have been doing with funding the government. Keep kicking the can just to get some meaningless concession on border fencing or welfare screenings.

Trump ain’t solving the migrant issue in 30 days just cause some Mexican troops are walking around. So he’s just going to be back here in 30 days or 60 days to distract from something else.
