Canadians already cancelling trips to the US. Snowbirds in Florida are selling their properties (but apparently the housing market is awful in Florida).

The US doesn't realize how much Canadians contribute to their economy...especially those Northern States. The sad thing is this didn't have to happen...now we both suffer.

Trump doesn't realize any of this. Because in his world success is all about shcheisting and bullying money out of vulnerable others. He doesn't understand that government, politics, and certainly trade is always about compromise and cooperation. Principles that doesnt exist in his narrow world.

America wanted a President who will run the country "like a business" even though the man has filed for bankruptcy more times than he's filed for divorce. We about to get what we asked for. A bunch of greedy, knee-jerk, short sighted decisions that effects only those most vulnerable and only benefits the rich.

Economic brehs, how likely is a economic depression?

The more tariffs he chooses to put on the world as some petty bargaining chip the more the price of good across the board go up.

The more prices go up the less you, me and everyone else will spend on things.

The less we spend, the less money circulates, the more businesses suffer.

The more businesses suffer the more businesses close, downsize, or halt hiring to compensate.

The more businesses downsize and close, the more people are left without income.

More tariffs increasing prices of good on top of declining consumer activity and means businesses suffer even more.

Add on this administrations Project 2025 assault on federal safety net programs for the middle class in favor of tax cuts to empower billionaires who don't have to worry about--if not profit from--recessions...how long will it take before we are living in a recession. Watching businesses close, people lose their jobs, prices going up, and no relief in sight because the President has to win a psychotic rich boy dikk measuring contest.

Tariffs are terrible economic policy. Anyone with an ass worth of knowledge of trade and economics knows this. When done in a targeted fashion they can boast business back to American companies. When done simply as general policy to bully other countries, he's basically holding your quality of life and spending power hostage until he gets what he wants.

The most important thing to remember about these tariffs and trade wars is that none of this has to do with you. It has nothing to do with helping you. It's about helping the rich. It's about bringing money to them. And most of all it's about satisfying Trumps psychotic ego of watching people beg and capitulate to him. This will not bring down the prices of anything. It will not boost the economy. This will not usher in some utopia of jobs and income. No matter who "wins" a trade war, it will end with everyone around the world living in a weaker economy where everything is more expensive than before. But for Donald Trump it's all about being able to brag and boast on TV about bullying countries to agree to shyt that ain't gonna improve no part of your life.

So yes in every way possible tarriffing everyone is a direct trip to a recession, not just for us but for the world. We are at the leadership of a big greedy man-baby who just wants to bully others and create headlines and this is all he knows. He has no true economic strategy to help you or solve any of the "inflation" we blamed Democrars for. his WILL end in an economic downturn and his administration will just lie, blame it on Biden, immigrants, and DEI, and I can only hope people eventually wake up.

Honestly what America is trying to do is to too late. They should have kept manufacturing jobs from the beginning. Now that they have shipped a good chunk of it to other countries for cheap labour. Companies profit margins are much better and the type of wage the American people would want to sustain themselves is much higher then the countries the manufacturing has moved too.
