This is 100% what I was talking about.

Why do yall suck up to unions and “working class” voters so much?

These people are fukking morons.

Dem tent is TOO BIG. Let them suffer. Dems need to stop trying to save these idiots.

Unions are needed to keep businesses from exploiting their workers. Doesn't mean that all his perfect, however

I'd cut off power to eastern states it's war now

Don't jinx us man :hubie:

Here is the report on the electricity trade between Canada & the US over the last two weeks. On 1/31 the US suddenly went from a net importer of Canadian electricity (the usual state of affairs) to almost balanced (sending over a bit more). This usually only happens if you guys have a super cold snap or blackout in GTA or something.

Maybe it's a coincidence or maybe the numbers will get revised Monday but it's kinda spooky

The U.S. Constitution empowers Congress to set import tariffs, a power that Congress has partially delegated to the President. The United States is also a member of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and a party to a number of trade agreements, which include specific tariff-related commitments.

Delegation can be revolked. So contact your representatives to encourage them to strip Trump of that delegated power they gave the Presidents.

Easier said then done and not because of Trump directly.

Back when the Japanese were whooping our asses in the 70s and 80s Congress set up the US Trade Rep office to help the US fight 'unfair' trade. Trump has the power delegated by Congress to legally put tariffs wherever as long as it is based on claims of 'trade discrimination' or 'national security'. Repealing that act isn't happening with the current clown car in Congress most likely and even if it squeaked by, Trump would veto it.

If too much money is lost because of his unneccessary Tariffs and enough of the oligarches and Corportaions complain, #Bothsides politicans bought and paid for will get off their asses and remove the power from him. So we will have to suffer until the suffering also hits the actual rulers too (the top 1%).

As much as they act like they are true believers in any ideology, their true allegiance is to money.

IMO I see the tariff issue as Covid 2.0. There were multiple reports of grocery store chains raising prices and it wasn't due to inflation. Yes prices may go up due to tariffs but companies are going to maximum it further than need be.

I get your point but disagree in the sense that this is basically a tax that companies will pass on to consumers. Mexican vegetables getting hit with a 25% tariff at the border means that grocery stores will have to purchase them at that high price. Can grocery stores eat the cost and still sell tomatoes for $1-2? Maybe. But why would they take that loss. Then you add in the migrant issue in California, where large percentages of them are no longer showing up for work. That's gonna raise prices too.

I feel like vegetable/fruit prices stayed pretty consistent through covid compared to meat and other shyt. I was buying a lot of potatoes, tomatoes, carrots, beans etc in 2020-2021. Now that those prices are gonna increase alongside everything else it could be worse than covid (in this one regard).

Trump seems to think countries will relent and pledge to move operations to the US before the effect of the tariffs become apparent

Play chicken with the economy, crehs... :snoop:
