Sanders consistently polls well with independents. Him technically not being a Democrat helps in a general election scenario.

Sanders has the biggest volunteer base, the most donors and donations and has raised more money than any other campaign. He’s actually set history of garnering this support this early in a campaign. Obama didn’t have the amount of individual donors Bernie has right now until Feb-March 2008 and Bernie himself didn’t reach these levels until early 2016 after IA and NH.

To say Bernie can’t win a general election is straight up bullshid when all of the data and evidence shows he has the tools to win.

We are only looking at about 7-8 states in play. Whoever the Democrats run has to do well in PA, Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio to name a few...

That's why Biden is viewed as the "best" candidate to take down Trump because he appeals to working class whites, independents and moderates and he would easily secure the traditional blue states that Dems always win.

Bernie and Warren would also win the blue states but how well do they play in the rust belt... that remains to be seen. No, 7 states are not in play. Ohio is not in play. It's not the 2000s or early 2010s anymore. Ohio is Likely R state at this point (Sherrod Brown getting re-elected is an outlier).

Only 3 states matter in the next election: Wisconsin, Michigan & Pennsylvania. All the Democratic nominee has to do is win the same states that Hillary did in 2016 (which is pretty much guaranteed) and also win back those 3 states I mentioned. That's it. If that happens, the Democratic nominee wins the electoral college and Trump is no longer President. Any other state that Democrats win would be a "bonus" and would likely mean that the GOP also lost control of the Senate.
