These past 2 episodes have a HEAVY atmosphere of dread attached to them. shyt got me glued to my seat feelin paranoid as hell. THIS is what the fukk I want from True Detective. Thats what I loved so much about season 1, and what I was missing from s2. That feeling of dread where you dont know exactly what could happen and your mind races thru all the scenarios like you're part of the mystery too.

You can tell HBO put all their chips in with tonight's episode. They want this to become a stable franchise for them.

If they can finish off the finale of season 3 then I think they got themselves their next big series that will one day be up there with the GOTs, Sopranos and Wires etc

Season 2 at this point is like a write off to me. Season 1 and 3 so far have delivered. I do like that each season is pretty much a stand alone. Like another poster mentioned, True Detective is where an actor can really elevate their profile as a serious actor.

How you gonna ROFL with a hollow back?
Seems like Hoyt got the drop on Harris from either Roland or some sort of tracking on Harris' car. Seeing as Harris served his purpose, Hoyt isn't too keen on moving forward on prosecuting so long Hayes and Roland play ball and keep quiet on the case.

Hayes, in his dementia at a later date, may have forgotten about the deal and blown the whistle on Hoyt. After the blown whistle Hoyt gets the goons to murk Amelia (we still don't know how she passed IIRC).

I feel like the man with one eye may have been the "muscle" to get things done.

Seems like Hoyt may have tried to kidnap the Purcells and take them on as their own. Hence Julie saying "the man acting like my father" in reference to Tom.

I hope next week episode is like 90 mins. This season has been piff. 9/10.

Netflix might be the hot hand in the game, but HBO still knows how to crank out top line TV.
HBO still kang out here. Last season of GOT, the ASOIF prequels, and the mutha fukking WATCHMEN series, I can’t fukking wait for that shyt. If they ever get around to the deadwood movie, it’s lit

New Barry coming next month too, Big Little Lies S2, Insecure S4, Peele associated Lovecraft Country.

Who knows, after the success of Sharp Objects, we may get another Jean-Marc Vallée project.

You're absolutely right, HBO still on top of the mountain with FX not too far behind.:banderas:

Outside of ATL what does FX have. I'm genuinely curious. Haven't looked into them too much.

Netflix is all about volume. They'll make 100 shows but you may only end up liking one or two of them. That's good for them.

HBO is very precise about their shows.

Reddit True Detective has some of the dumbest theories/predictions :gucci:

To the point where I’m like are you just making shyt up in your head you want to happen with no rhyme or reason :what:

Like someone said he thinks Elisa the interviewer is Harris James daughter :what: just cuz he said he got kids :mjlol:

FX also has Fargo and The Americans. I haven't seen The Americans, but I hear it's good :manny:

Do you remember back in season 1 where the popular theory on Reddit was Marty's wife was the killer :russ:

Fargo, Legion, It's Always Sunny, American Crime Story, American Horror Story (Hit or Miss), Snowfall, Mayans M.C.

What looks promising on their outlook is Y: The Last Man.

I think a lot of viewers try to make TD more complicated than it is.

It's pretty straight forward on who is who.

Especially after the first 4-5 episodes, you can rule out most people as suspects if you don’t try to make up your own version of the show lol.

Debunked by Nic and they're still clinging onto the "Roland is gay" theory :mjlol:

Like we didn't just have a gay protagonist last season :dead:

They read into these minute details too much. Just because Roland isn't married, broke up with that chick and has no children, they assume he's gay. They assumed Marty's wife was the killer because Michelle Monaghan was the actress playing her. It's like @The Coochie Assassin said, people make it more complicated than it is. I'm pretty sure Westworld has more shyt going on in the background that plays into the story than True Detective :russ:

Netflix is quantity over quality & while that means you'll always have something to watch, 7 out of 10 times it'll be bullshyt.

HBO has always been about quality (obviously they've had their missteps but their record speaks for itself)
