That score when they were driving Harris James to that house :whew: 70s Horror movie shyt
Nic quickly averted from any David Lynch comparisons with S2 but the score and cinematography during the Harris interrogation scene reminded me of Evil Cooper's introduction in Twin Peaks S3.

This one of my favorite tv moments of all time. S3 of TP was something else mannn.

Facts, and I'm pretty sure Roland told Edward Hoyt all the details about what transpired that night.

Which leads me to believe that Roland is gay and Harris found out at some point. What else would compel Roland to snitch to Hoyt? He must've been trying to get from underneath Hoyt's control by offering up something even more critical, such as Hays killing Harris. Though Roland shot Harris, I wouldn't be surprised if he told it differently. Alternatively, someone else was watching them and followed them to the barn?

Seems like Hoyt got the drop on Harris from either Roland or some sort of tracking on Harris' car. Seeing as Harris served his purpose, Hoyt isn't too keen on moving forward on prosecuting so long Hayes and Roland play ball and keep quiet on the case.

Hayes, in his dementia at a later date, may have forgotten about the deal and blown the whistle on Hoyt. After the blown whistle Hoyt gets the goons to murk Amelia (we still don't know how she passed IIRC).

I feel like the man with one eye may have been the "muscle" to get things done.

Seems like Hoyt may have tried to kidnap the Purcells and take them on as their own. Hence Julie saying "the man acting like my father" in reference to Tom.

I hope next week episode is like 90 mins. This season has been piff. 9/10.

Netflix might be the hot hand in the game, but HBO still knows how to crank out top line TV.

These past 2 episodes have a HEAVY atmosphere of dread attached to them. shyt got me glued to my seat feelin paranoid as hell. THIS is what the fukk I want from True Detective. Thats what I loved so much about season 1, and what I was missing from s2. That feeling of dread where you dont know exactly what could happen and your mind races thru all the scenarios like you're part of the mystery too.

You can tell HBO put all their chips in with tonight's episode. They want this to become a stable franchise for them.

Man this EP was great. I kept looking at the time hoping the clock barely moved. The score had me tense the entire way through. :damn:

Shout out to Daniel Sackheim, he brought the heat. Looks like he is directing the finale too :whew:

Hoyt having a Detective shook like that though. Hayes went out like a boss. Next week can't come soon enough :ohlawd:
