This show had one of pet peeves that I fukken hate about American tv. Every time a black actor is the lead, his color/ethnic background has to be part of the dialogue.

This is why I love British tv, a black actor can be the lead, and they don't reference his blackness.

:dahell:

Maybe because racial relations here are very different given the two countries histories.

It's looking like shes involved. Imo it's confirmed after he spoke to her ghost and she said you left something in the woods and he asked what will it cost. She said it will cost everything.

I'm starting to think she has a connection and he discovered it and snuffed out the lead early to protect her. And since he was romantically interested in her, he never chased that trail and eventually forced himself to forget about it since he later married her.

Its probably going to be like the Heavy Rain game where someone closely involved with the case, snuff out evidence and cover trails. She is either covering up leads and clues to protect someone or she is the person who did the crime herself.

And he will have to lose everything ( his wife's rep) if he wants to solve the crime.

I disagree with this theory. If she or he had something to do with it there's no way he does a video interview years later. It's more likely he botched the case and his curiosity still gets the best of him.

I got slightly confused when she referred to him as her "EX-husband". Do we know for sure that they're still actually living together in the 1990 scenes? I think so, but I'm not sure that they actually confirmed it. Could they be separated?

She said that to appear single and get the scoop. They're clearly married up until she dies in old age.

Good show so far with 5 eps to go I'm expecting at least one classic episode. Ali is doing his thing and Dorff who I haven't seen in a while is on top form

to be fair, in S1, literally nothing indicated 3 episodes in that we would get what we got on the 4th episode. but this season has been great anyway, so far.
From what I hear, episode 5 is going to be a treat.

Of the big moments that happen in True Detective, Season 2's shootout gotta be one of the most sorriest pieces of scenes I've ever seen. They tried so hard to make another "Who Goes There" moment and it just came off as a bad 80s action scene. I'll never forget that freeze frame at the end of the episode. :dead:

The mansion scene in S2 was much better. :pachaha:

The old dude they interviewed who refused to have his house searched ? Was he sure about the genders of the black and white pair he saw ?

Cause in the previous episode the white breh that came to pick up amelia had a brown whip..
:ohhh: You're right. What if dude is in on it and lied about the genders to throw the police off.

I was waiting for a saxophone to play during that freeze frame. That's how cheesy it was.

:russ:That good? So far three episodes in how does it hold up to season 1?

I only seen the first two, I been fukking around doing other shyt.

As far as comparing it to season 1....I'll say this. I'm not gonna put it on that level yet, it's only 2 episodes. But if this was season 2 instead of what we got for season 2....you'd say they didn't miss a step. It is that good so far.

shyt is dope so far. The two leads probably already got an emmy sown up unless it ends spectacularly bad.

IMO the case is going to get broken when he finally reads her book. They keep alluding to the fact that he hasn't read her book which we're suppose to perceive as strange considering they're married. My take isn't that she's involved but the cac that picked her up that one time in episode 2 is involved and he or some detail about him is mentioned in the book
