Something is off about Amelia

Wonder if they’re going to do their own version of the West Memphis Three with the 3 cac teenagers

It's looking like shes involved. Imo it's confirmed after he spoke to her ghost and she said you left something in the woods and he asked what will it cost. She said it will cost everything.

I'm starting to think she has a connection and he discovered it and snuffed out the lead early to protect her. And since he was romantically interested in her, he never chased that trail and eventually forced himself to forget about it since he later married her.

Its probably going to be like the Heavy Rain game where someone closely involved with the case, snuff out evidence and cover trails. She is either covering up leads and clues to protect someone or she is the person who did the crime herself.

And he will have to lose everything ( his wife's rep) if he wants to solve the crime.

Im sure they mentioned that she died 2 years ago during the interview when he was an old man.

I'm enjoying it so far after 3 episodes. I actually think this plot is the strongest of the 3 seasons, but there hasn't been an "it scene" yet like the stash house sequence in S1 or Velcoro threatening the kid after using the brass knuckles on his pops in Season 2. It's almost like Pizzolatto is playing it safe so far.

BTW, that old man makeup is absolute first-rate, and Mahershala is so damn convincing. He's getting an Emmy for sure.

Good ass episode, but I gotta say it..........I miss Jeremy Saulnier's directing. His absence was definitely felt throughout the episode.

Anyone else feel like Amelia cheated on Hays there? Interesting parallel between that scene and the one where Wayne asks her out to dinner. She comes across as manipulative. Don't think she's involved in the murder, but perhaps her fate is one where curiosity kills the cat and she's just at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Yeah I got nervous after she said she was going to get dolled up to question the cops and even hung out with them drinking and how excited she was for the information she got. Starting to think her getting a rush for it and plus her talking about leaving town under a fake name and meeting people she likes to manipulate people idk

Don't think she cheatd yet but she already said she likes to travel to other cities and pretend to be someone else. Purple Hays should have caught on to that when she said she'd get dolled up and talk to those cops. He needed to dead that but now he sees he can't trust her. Her excitement leads you to believe that she'll do whatever for info even if she has to sleep with those cops. In her mind she's another person so it's justified. I'm really hoping we don't get a scene of her getting smutted out but it's True Detective so it'll probably happen

I don't know what John Redcorn had in that bag but them rednecks about to get that work. He looked like he he was ready to put his murder game down

I got slightly confused when she referred to him as her "EX-husband". Do we know for sure that they're still actually living together in the 1990 scenes? I think so, but I'm not sure that they actually confirmed it. Could they be separated?
