He ain't wrong.. it could have used another year in the oven and a few more rewrites...

Shytty cast, shytty story. No time in the world woulda helped that shyt. Shyt was all time horrible.

The problem with season 2 was time.


It needed about 2 more rewrites.


It had the core of a great show,and it had many great moments it just needed more Time in the oven to clean it up.

I'm happy they've realized this mistake and are letting season 3 take as long as it needs.

I think the cast was fine.. just needed to be 3 main characters max.. but really only 2.

They threw too much into the story. You could have had two separate seasons with all the ideas they had. Hell I think I talked about this in the TDseason 2 thread.



Time would have helped it.

The Moonlight Oscar winner is in early discussions for a starring role in a potential third season of HBO anthology True Detective. A deal is far from done — and it remains unclear if there will actually be a third cycle of the franchise. HBO declined comment.

He tried too much in the second season, too many points of view and different characters made it very convoluted. It should be Mahershela and a good second character with a bunch of minor characters in between.

If this happens I'll end up giving this show the second shot I never thought I would give it. The second season
