remember breh, the uncle was staying in that room and the will kid was sleeping on the couch, the uncle also had playboy magazines under the bed. I think the uncle was on some pedo shyt and was watching the little girl while he was staying with them

This is the conclusion I came to as well.

Bout to watch the 2nd ep here in a second.

That's the red herring implication. But if he was a pedo, he wouldn't care about Playboys so my guess is he isn't a pedo and the boy made the hole to check on his sister, who may or may not have been abused by the dad/mom. When they refer to the 90s reinvestigation they mention shyt about what happened with Julie and the dad, so there's a family storyline coming into play after the case of the boy's killer in 1980 is closed.

never saw S1 or S2. these 2 eps were decent. cinematography and acting are great. writing is just ok, though. not that big a fan of all this time jumping

Season 1 is legendary, I'd definitely recommend watching it if you have the time. Season 2 was highly mediocre, since it's an anthology series you can skip it and be just fine.

suspect this will become overrated since season 2 was so bad

first episodes were good, that’s about it. plenty of shots of Ali looking out of the passenger side window of the car thinking in classic TD fashion.

the fact that Jeremy Saulnier left after these 2 doesn’t bode well though :francis:
Not gonna lie I'm nervous about this, but I have faith in Sackheim and Nic to carry the load.

From what I've heard from the actors, the finale is really something special.

I don't think the two tie into together breh, plus it is strongly implied that julie isn't the dad's biological daughter. I think that has to do with what happened between them in the 90s,

Great start to the season my biggest question I have so far is how much can we trust Hayes POV considering his dementia? :patrice:

I'm sure this will be a reoccurring plot point through out the season. Which is dope to me.

I kinda assumed they were going this route because one of the trailers he said something about "my mind is just a bunch of missing pieces".

That's my point, when the mom was out whoring he might have been taking out his frustration on his b*stard daughter. Regardless, I don't think the peep hole was there for some pedophile shyt because that's too obvious.

The unreliable narrator angle is interesting but Nic stated otherwise in an interview so who knows really:

https://ew.com/

"If you’re seeing it, it’s reliable. I’m not playing those sorts of games with the audience, where you find out what you saw didn’t really happen, or it was a dream within a dream or something. So he is a reliable narrator."

"People have noted the comparison to the West Memphis 3 “Satanic panic” case, how of much of that is an inspiration if any?

Not at all. You’re moved off that pretty quickly. It’s really not informed by that. "

Don't know how it's gonna go for this season but in the previous two, both killers were revealed in episode 3.
