Screeners are out....but are the screeners out? :mjlit:

Also I wonder when we'll get reviews for this. I just want to know if the cult/weird fukkery of the first season is back. In some parts it was damn near horror, we need that back. Trailer looks dope but it could go either way.

don't want to put it all him but w/o Fukunaga directing, I worry that the tone/feel from S1 is gone for good from the show. It only makes sense that the director was the major reason as to why the show looked and felt the way it did

Well also Pizzolatto stole damn near all of Rust's dialogue from Thomas Ligotti. And The Yellow King was taken from "The King In Yellow" by Robert Chambers. Although the cult surrounding it was more a Lovecraft interpretation of it.

Don't get me wrong Fukunaga is a beast but the rest of season 1 was basically 2-3 things flat out stolen. Season 2 was trash because none of it was stolen. :mjlol:

Honestly as long as season 3 is dope I don't even care if he's heavily "influenced" by other things. Just don't be so obvious with it.

As an anthology show with a different story each season, I have no problems with this. That being said, this season is taking place deep in the Arkansas Ozarks so I have no doubt in my mind the creepy, occult dread will make a return. That can be done without Fuk.

S2 hit the bait and switch on nikkas.....and I'm not gonna lie, I was pulling for some occult shyt after those first two episodes. Felt very......Lynch/Hitchcock at some points.

Edit: I can already tell Amelia (Ejogo's character) is going to get herself killed later on playing the "curious cat" journalist.

Season 2 stole from The Big Nowhere.

Was it spooky though? :lupe:

Fred.
Absolutely, in it's own way. Honestly it's creepier than the first season....especially the first episode.

Already better than the 2nd season. Mahershala is holding his own (are we shocked though?). Not even close to Rust and Marty, but him and Dorff had some good chemistry on screen. Show is also doing a great job intertwining the three timelines.

I said it before and I'll say it again, Carmen Ejogo is so damn sexy in this. God fukking damn. :noah:
