season has been great so far...i just can't f*ck with y'alls half assed opinions on most shows.

the fact is you can't compare a partial season to a whole season. nor can you fully judge the writing and acting of a show based off of 2 episodes. your lack of understanding of an actors body of work or depth doesn't justify your horrid opinions.

everybody want to be @obarth but ain't obarth.

I don't understand how people are criticizing this season for being too slow. The first three episodes of season 1 were slower than this.

The first two aired episodes have been solid, and I really don't understand the hate especially if you liked season 1. I feel like people jumped to the mindset that this season won't be nearly as good as season 1 without letting it play out :beli:

I loved last season and thought the first episode of this season was really solid. That said, last night's episode was the weakest of all of all of them. The writing and direction were both off.

Vaughn's story in the beginning was terrible. It was laughably bad dialogue and whoever called for that tight shot of his wooden face the entire time he was talking made a terrible choice.

Kitsche is so far playing a stereotype of a self-loathing gay guy. There's no subtlety. Not his fault, talking about 'I should've beat those fags that were looking at me up' is not good dialogue. It's hamfisted and gives the audience no credit.

McAdams did nothing beyond watching porn.

Colin was shot and left with an unoriginal 'is he dead' cliffhanger. Maybe he'll wake up next week and it was all just a bad dream. :troll:

I don't blame the actors at all. It was all over the place and made no sense. I'm hoping it picks up and the pieces start coming together - like the first season - because the best part of episode 2 was the 15 minutes of interstate shots for me.

What was so bar setting about the first season. I have since reversed my opinion that the first season was exemplary. I feel that it was good but not more than that. It was the mythos that put it over the top but the end fell very flat.

it's cause most of the people saying that just binged watced season 1, which gave them the whole thing at once, and didnt follow week to week...season one had the slow build up too...it wasnt until the hood shootout episode, that the show picked up....

also, to the ones complaining about the acting: the acting has been good so far...it's not season 1 level, but it's been damn good...colin, rachel, and vince are killing it....the thing that's holding it back compared to season 1 is that unlike season 1 where marty & matt got to shine cause they got most of the screen time, the screen time is being split up between a lot of characters now...when each character gets more screen time, yall will see they shining....

I'm not sure what prompted you to color code your response. I want to know what you liked about season one to better understand your expectations of Season 2.

The Vince Vaughn beginning was awkward, but it added depth to his character. I think he did a good job later in the episode establishing himself as a gangster. Boardwalk Empire taught me that you cannot go into TV shows/movies thinking a certain actor can't pull something off.

Klitsch's character is similar to Rust. There's some deep rooted issues there going on, but the show probably won't divulge too much into them. Rust lost his daughter, his wife and his life fell apart. Something obviously happened to Klitsch's character too. Calling it a cliche is pretty stupid. And if we're comparing it to season 1, why aren't you saying Rust is a typical introverted atheist? Seems like that pretty much generalizes most people who use the Internet :francis:

The McAdams porn scene is just showing the depth of her character. Again, obviously there are issues there that may or may not be directly addressed.

How was Rust and Marty being stabbed at, shot at and chokeslammed by Remus AND surviving any better than Colin's character potentially coming back from getting shot?

I'm just saying - the same things people are complaining about this season were there in season 1 too. I really don't understand how anyone can hate on this season if they enjoyed season 1 so much. Just let it play out...

Welp, come into this thread and nikkas got shyt figured out huh? :francis:

Scust at that one nikka, talking about "It's ok guys, :krs: I know what happens in episode 3"

:pacspit:

Anyway back to the episode,

Vince Vaughn still sucks, that opening monologue shows you the difference between a great actor and a mediocre one.
Some like Christian Bale or Tom Hardy could take that shytty writing and really elevate it.
But we don't have those people, we have Vince Vaughn. :francis:

I like how certain scenes were shot, like we see the reflection off of Rachel's eyes as she was watching porn.

:salute:to the one breh here who figured out Riggs was a repressed homosexual, while we were all like :what:

One question though, are Rachel and Riggs staying in a hotel now, since they have to investigate the town of Vinci( or whatever that corrupt town is called)? It looks like it.

You can however judge the writing and acting of a show so far and conclude that it isn't really good at the moment. In fact, that would not be any different than you saying that the season has been great so far. But because you don't like dissenting opinions, you purposely hold those to a higher standard.

I'm enjoying this season so far btw, although it certainly hasn't been on par with season 1 so far.

just thought: something that's gonna be important later on that was kinda brushed aside was what rachel's partner told her on the phone while she was watching porn....he said that someone called about the missing woman they investigating, and that the call came from the city/area she in....somehow all this shyt gonna tie together....
