at nikkas like you wanting a main character killed just for some meaningless story development....

was it meaningless when William Peterson died in to live and die in la, was it meaningless when Billy costigan took one to the dome in departed? Both flicks that where there was no plan for a sequel.
If that was the natural conclusion to the self contained anthology mini-series you would be non the wiser. So it's a bit naive to call it "meaningless story development"
