Yeah but nobody can explain why Marty would tell the detectives that. He just told them "Rust was trying to get a read on you". So....how does that make sense?

its common knowledge that Rust is some sort of interrogation room savant. whether he is doing the interrogating or it appears that he is being interrogated its safe to assume he is in control when in the "box". Marty has referenced his skills in there several times and the 2 2012 detectives even asked Rust about his interrogation skills. What Marty gave them is just common knowledge.... :yeshrug:

:wtf:

Yeah but people are saying he is working with Rust during the interviews. If that's the case him saying that makes no sense. Why tip them off like that?

Fred.

You're trying to make this link in your head and it's influencing your judgement

It's no tip at all, the most probable way for the detectives to interpret it is : Rust might have something to do with the killings, so he was getting a read on you guys to see what you have against him

Nic Pizzolatto, the creator of the series said this about the "time is a flat circle" line:

http://www.thedailybeast.com/articl...fate-of-all-life-is-the-best-episode-yet.html

shyt is crazy when you think about it like that.

Oh and Marty's daughter got caught in a car fukking 2 dudes. Marty was obviously pissed off and slapped her up.

She's a heaux, breh.

Fred.

what the fukk!? wow :snoop:

Pizzolatto is kinda using the fourth wall being broken as his rationale behind reliving the same episodes of marty's and rusty's lives

It's not common knowledge in 2012. They think he's a nut case. The last interrogation we seen he beat a guy up and was tossed out. Shortly after that he leaves the force.

So nah, he's a disgraced former cop who they think is a serial killer. They never even entertained the thought that Rust was playing them until Marty said something. If that was a possibility to them why would they continue to give him beers for hours and listen to him ramble about time/space?

the entire force thought he was wacko... even back in '95, but that didn't stop them from using him in the box to help get confessions. why would the 2012 detectives ask him about his interrogation technique if they didn't respect that part of him??

Wrong.

When they are "done" questioning him, they "outright" say "we've been listening to your bullshyt for the past hours"

Son, do you have a learning disability? You aren't making any sense.

Read this very carefully:

Other people (not me) seem to think Rust and Marty are mutually deceiving the 2 black detectives as some kind of play. Why the fukk would Marty tell them "he was getting a read on you" if that's the case? Why would he even toss that out there at all? Best case scenario he just confirmed their suspicions. Worst case scenario they had no idea, and he just tipped them off.

They thought he was eccentric and got results as a detective. They didn't think he was a crazy serial killer.

If the detectives thought Rust was gonna pull some kind of crazy interrogation room mojo there's no reason to talk to him. They legit thought they'd get some kind of info out of him. As time went on it became obvious they wouldn't, which is why they said "fukk it" and outright accused him. I'm kinda confused why they'd invite him there in the first place if they expected him to jerk them around.

I could see Rust ending up catching the fall for this, they're setting it up so he does. I think it'll be pretty :skip: if Marty ends up the killer this whole time with Rust taking the fall for him.

I believe his exact words were something like "If you spent hours with him and couldn't get a read, well maybe he was getting a read on you". The detectives are not stupid, they know Rust was mostly bullshytting and playing with them. They suggest that right at the end of the interview.

What suspcions are you talking about ?

The fact that Rust was getting a read on them, whether they are aware or not has no incidence on the theory that Rust and Marty are working together

I agree to an extent. but in doing proper detective work they would inevitably have to question Rust about certain holes. his sick father... how they really got the lead on the Ledouxs... the "shootout" at the meth lab.. just for starters. hell basic crime scene detecting and forensics could easily prove the shootout didn't go down the way Rust and Marty claim. Reggie would have to have gunshot residue on his hands and body... footprints of Rust and Marty scampering through the woods avoiding the AK slugs... etc. Then Rust resurfaces and they have him in photos at the recent crime scenes. They had no choice but to question him even if they believed he has the upper hand in the box. those detectives are not in the same league as Rust. the younger cat admitted as much when he said some of that earlier "ramble" went over his head.....

Exactly.

It doesn't make any sense to think the detective wouldn't interview Rust because they'd think he would play around with them. They're men, they have an ego, if they're investigating this case it's because they believe they can solve it
