I mean... he just found a little dead boy in a trailer and a girl being held captive. It wasn't the smartest thing to due, but shyt happens

Still tho, as viewers we all like to imagine "what would i do if..." maybe i'm fukked up and my sense of morality is off but if i saw a random kid in that situation and the culprit close by, i would prolly work that dude over while the kid watched as some sort of justice. Now if i'd seen someone i knew in that trailer, i would've probably removed dude's limbs one by one without batting an eye. Also as someone mentioned if Ledoux had stayed alive more information could've been attained about the satanic rituals, which kinda puts the spotlight on Marty's decision to shoot first without even saying anything to Rust or even question ledoux as to why he did it. Even a " YOU LIKE PLAYING WITH LITTLE KIDS!" right before he shot him would've worked for me, for all we know the other dude coulda been bringing the kids in and Ledoux was just cooking :yeshrug:

Starkset...
Hes a HORRIBLE detective......

can't really disagree with you. the show is true detective. singular.......

Rust is in everybody's head. he wants the killer by any means necessary.. even if it is at the detriment to his health and how others perceive him. Marty is getting all the praise riding on Rust's coat tails. he owes a lot to Rust... his career advancement.. chance to potentially salvage his marriage. these 2 have an interesting dynamic. Marty is impulsive and flies off the handle but I don't think many people are giving him his just due. he is responsible for getting leads that brought them to the ledouxs and the children. I think Marty will have a further critical impact in resolving this case and possibly on Rust's detachment from life and all that it involves including love.....

Thank you
Watchers are so enamored over Rust they fail to notice how much of a sh*tty cop/person Marty is
They dont make a good team.

The story would have been better if Rust shot Ledue after seeing the kids. Marty coming up with the plan for the shoot out cover up.
Rust later finding out Ledue is not the main one behind the killings and going crazy trying to find the real killers.
Hence his state now.

I don't think it makes sense for Rust to kill him. Rust I'm sure was affected by seeing the children, but Rust already has a very cynical and pessimistic view of the world, and death. Marty is much more impulsive, and has already shown that he's capable of reacting violently at the drop of a hat. He's a father, and is very protective.

You won't see me disagreeing with you that he can be a shytty dude/cop. Rust has the history of being undercover and killing dudes, but it's always methodical and calculated. I don't see Rust as the type to kill someone out of anger.

Just caught up with this show :whew:

HBO really back :ahh:

I'm not buying what the black cops are sayin, I think Cohle went off the grid to better get to the end of the Yellow King and that whole satanic cult.

These next few episodes are going to show us how deep cult shxt really goes..

what if marty daughter know yellow king or already been turned out by him.
That makes no damn sense. She didn't go to that school nor was she a runaway. I posted that the Reggie was a killer/ recruiter for the cult . Same as the woman who told them about the church. The yellow king is a charismatic figure who can speak to everyone on all levels, a very intelligent man. Rust missed that when talking to Reggie cell mate, he spoke about Carcosa and the yellow king which put them on Reggie but he was never the king. The lawn mower man wasn't the king either but a member. I posted clues to the yellow king is today and the writer of the show said 85% of the show is right in front of you. The devil is in the details.

Do you think this show will venture into any flat-out supernatural stuff? It's walked the line at times. I don't think it will, but I like the undertones.

Damn brehs couldn't wait for it to finish before I started watching. Seen the first two episodes, I felt completely deflated after watching both of em. Defiantly one of those shows where you know from jump your getting quality viewing.
