Anyone notice the black stars on the windows at the end of the ep:

Fred.
Yeah. I peeped that too, along with the shining light from the window above him as well as the woods on the wall around the window as it was panning out.

The cinematography on this show is just :banderas:

This show replay ability is piff because of all of the details in just about every scene. Breaking Bad had this effect also. And just like that show, I find myself anxiously waiting for the next episode right after the last one ends.

Rust and Martin have never let up on
the hunt for the yellow king........
They know he is protected by very powerful people.
(the rich white snuff film crowd)
they are blowing smoke up those cops
asses because they no longer trust no one but each
other............(even if they loath each other)

I'm not talking about present day Marty. The past Marty seems to be a complete fukk up. I mean he blew away Ledue which is the reason to why they havent caught the real killers. :beli;I dunno I mean we are all :gladbron: seeing rust in action but its annoying to me to see Marty bring nothing to the table as a cop.
I think you're selling him short breh.

Him getting the info on who Reggie was cooking for was huge and led to Rust's plan on going undercover and getting to Ginger
He also came through in the clutch as the getaway driver after the "heist"

He's playing the character as a straight forward kind of detective during the times of the flashbacks. He usually just goes about the shyt as most cops would, but since Rust is his partner and he's like John Luther or Batman with solving shyt and coming to conclusions it makes Marty seem incompetent. Just my take on it.

I've never felt as stimulated watching any episode of breaking bad as i felt watching nearly every episode of this iteration of true detective...

and to be real in the grand scheme of great television.. game of thrones isnt even in the discussion... i cant speak for the levels of enjoyment the average person gets from each show but if thats how were breaking down are listings than walking dead would be number one and that shyt is hot garbage.

I like got for what it is... but it doesnt really hold up to deconstruction... and with the exception of the tyrion/tywin scenes its not like the acting is great... its a fun show to watch... 'to see whats going to happen next'

be real with yourself could you ever see yourself rewatching an ep of got just to break it down... i can guarantee alot of tv heads myself including will be doing that with true detective tomorrow.
Man stop , BB thread had almost a thousand pages on just 8 episodes and numerous pop up threads combined went to maybe 1100 pages total before it went to the hall of fame. We used to brake down every sentence and color in that show. It used to about 40 pages per episode or more. True is a great show but not the goat.

Seems like as far as the case goes the writers drew inspiration from The Franklin Scandal, The Ultimate Evil, and various other books that deal with real life murder investigations that involve... satanic cults, child abduction, murder prostitution, politicans, etc...

'Yeah, I got a 10 point buck…'

'No, I'm talking about stalking prey…tracking'

'Jesus you're a prick'

& 'Marty Hart Captain America' killed me…

Just incredible on every level to me...

Thank you @tru_m.a.c and @Wargames for recognizing I figured most of the story out . Also Russ drinking on camera was perfect, he planned that whole interview to get info out the cops. He even said they working for a friend in high places. This whole appearance is just him being in deep cover again. His whole role is just a cover again. Like when he worked Ginger and crew he made himself look like an addict , now he is playing the role of burn out cop. Remember when Martin said what type of cop he was he said regular when describing the role he played. Those 2 are working the these cops because they still on the case.

breh can u quote some of your older theories?? Its a big thread but id be nterested in checking them out.

if they are working these cops in the present day why would Marty tell them that?

Also, when/how did this Yellow King reference first appear in the show?

thanks brehs

:whoa: come down off the ledge brehzinksi

I love true detectives, and this season is already a GOAT season…but I'm liable to kill a Lannister fan in real life if I have to :violent:

Good point and if there are records available they can find out which girls from that school got steered to that bunny ranch and how many were recruited for the cult. Word got around that Russ was the best at getting confessions out of perps. Imagine if he drawing out the real killers by feeding them the info he wants? Now that he is back on the grid again he could have been with the cult in someway undercover and now they may see him as a recruiter for them to get new victims and this whole thing is away to vet him? @marcuz you like this theory ?
haven't seen the show. i'll wait until the season is over and run through it
