He said Beaumont which is where the bar was. He didn't narrow it down after that. Beaumont, Texas is not small enough to randomly get somewhere within 90 seconds.

Also why would he tie a shoot out in the middle of the hood to Rust? The heist was some spur of the moment shyt.

Anyway, it's whatever. Still a great episode.

Fred.

the bar wasnt in beaumont, go watch it again....when marty leaves the bar, and they show him on the highway, he's going towards beaumont...

also, rust told marty before hand he didnt trust ginger and that he figured ginger would try some shyt, that was the reason for the phone and scanner...we have to remember, rust knew these cats well...

true, it's whatever...i'm not really trying to figure out the show, i'm just shooting the shyt about it cause i dig it...and you right, it was a great episode...

It shows Rust saying "I been there about a week, I'm going to meet a guy" then driving alone to Beaumont, then at the bar. Then it shows Marty leaving the bar after getting thrown out, but driving to Beaumont. So it's edited kind of confusing.

You see a dude tweaking out with a tool box full of choppers and grenades, a wild ass shootout in the hood is probably the first thing you'd expect him to be involved in

Rust had zero weapons with him though. He got patted down before he even met Ginger.

Shots fired

:gladbron:

Not really. People actually pointed that out in the "BB" thread. Or complained about a specific cell phone being used to text in "Homeland". But people can overlook Marty finding Rust in a city of 100,000 people in 90 seconds?

This type of stuff never matters to me, but in other threads people would potentially condemn a show over it.

Yeah I'm positive. I just re-watched that entire sequence.

It shows him driving to Beaumont. I think they just edited it out of order, because the alternative is they messed up. And I doubt they'd over look something as big as Rust driving to Beaumont, then at the bar, and then have Marty leaving the bar, but heading to Beaumont.

He had zero weapons with him, but wouldn't Rust's behavior leading up to everything, and then the order to listen to a police scanner for anything crazy lead you to connect the dots? A dude who has a history with deep cover and wild shyt, is drinking again, over a tool box with wild weaponry, and is clearly on edge about what might be going down, and then you hear over a police scanner that some next level shyt is jumping off.

Maybe. But Rust himself didn't even know it would get that crazy, the heist wasn't planned. It's a pretty big leap of logic to go from "I see Rust on a boat" to "World War III is in the hood, it must be Rust".

Like I said, it doesn't bother me enough to matter. But you have to suspend disbelief a lot more than we've had to do so far in this series, so it kind of stood out.

It's less "I see Rust on a boat" and moreso "This dude whose jacket I was wearing from the last time he was with this dude that has three bullet holes in it is going off with these dudes again and he's worried shyt might jump off again shyt might get serious"

I think it's incorrect to say that the heist wasn't planned breh.

The bikers just had a dumbass plan, but it was planned to some extent. I say this because they kidnapped the black dude so he would tell them where the spot was, and they went as far as getting police uniforms to conduct the robbery. So to say it wasn't planned isn't really true. Those dudes were just dumb as shyt as to how they went about doing it.

Nah nah I mean, planned in the sense that Rust knew about it, so he'd tell Marty to listen to the radio because some shyt would pop off. He had no idea the heist or anything like it would happen prior to meeting Ginger. He assumed it might go bad, but not to the extent that it did. It could've went wrong a lot of ways that wouldn't register on a police scanner is what I'm saying.

It would've made more sense if he knew about the heist beforehand and that's why he gave the radio to Marty. Fully expecting to possibly die, but "hey if you can get to me in time so be it".

Didn't the scanner/walkie-talkie have lights indicating the range to the other scanner (Rust's) or something? I thought that's how Marty tracked him, by signal. Once the shooting started happening, it's clear Marty started driving into that direction so by the time Rust called in with the exact location, he was already close by.

Nah. The only thing Rust said about the lights is "green answers, red hangs up".

Also Rust didn't have a scanner or phone on him so there would be nothing to track. He ran up in someone's crib and called Marty.
