Actually I was legitimately asking for a role that displayed his acting chops, I dont know of any other than his Oscar roles which to me arent as impressive as Matts because they naturally take you out your real life persona
Trolling aside, I'm not really familiar with his work either because I really have no interest in a lot of the movies he's in.
Gangs of New York by itself is a horrendously mediocre movie saved by an incredible performance by Day Lewis.
Last of the Mohicans he was pretty good. There Will Be Blood is a boring ass movie, but he was similarly incredible in that movie as he was in Gangs of New York.
I've never seen Abraham Lincoln and have no interest in watching it. Never saw My Left Foot, but I did see the Crucible remake he was in; he was pretty good.
I don't like to criticize actors' abilities based on the roles they're cast in. I think that's unfair.
Daniel Day is an incredible actor. Matthew McCougnaghey (sic) is an incredible actor.
Matt has just been more choosy lately with his roles and he's had the fortune of being an integral part of some incredible projects.
He'll be the flavor of the month for a little while longer if keeps being selective.
Dallas Buyers CLub was a solid movie overall, and True Detective was an incredible project.
If anything, I think Daniel Day's ability to completely transform himself into so many characters every thing as subtle as the intonation of their voice to the mannerisms, to the way he holds his gaze; they're all very subtle things, but they're a testament to his ability as actor.
I've always thought McCoughanahey (sic) was a great actor, but he always picked roles that were never going to sniff the Oscars.
One of my personal favorites he was in was Two For The Money. shytty movie, but I'm a sports bettor so it's a personal favorite of mine, and he was incredible in that movie.
Great actors win awards by picking great roles, and he's been doing that as of late.
