what seems to be the officer, problem?
I thought it was another great episode, can't believe there's only one left then we will never see Marty or Rust on our screens again. Gonna have to light one up for my nikka Rust.

Hours after winning the Best Actor Oscar for Dallas Buyers Club, Matthew McConaughey announced that he wouldn't be returning to the second season of HBO's critically acclaimed crime drama True Detective, according to E!
"Season one was finite," McConaughey told the media backstage at the award show Sunday night.
Oscars 2014: The 25 Best and Worst Moments
HBO has yet to officially confirm a second season of the show, though Nic Pizzolatto, the show's creator, told Rolling Stone that he's already started writing the next season. (Like the first season, the author has eschewed a writing team in favor of writing the entire season himself.) "I've got three characters I love right now, and they're all unique, and neither of them is Cohle or Hart," he says.
The debut of the show's eight-episode run, which introduced McConaughey and Woody Harrelson as two Louisiana homicide detectives searching for a serial killer, was the network's highest-rated debut since 2010's Boardwalk Empire with 2.3 million viewers.
McConaughey's departure may be more a function of Pizzolatto's plan for the show all along. True Detective was conceived as an anthology show, with each season telling a discrete story with a different locale and group of characters. This may include the emergence of a strong female protagonist. In a now-deleted tweet, Pizzolatto replied to one fan who requested a deeper look at the show's female characters with, "One of the detriments of only having two POV characters, both men (a structural necessity). Next season…"
Speaking to Rolling Stone about the show, McConaughey explained what drew him in. "I loved the writing," he said. "I read the first two episodes, and I said, 'I'm in.' It's like Mark Hanna in Wolf of Wall Street or Ron Woodroof in Dallas Buyers Club. These are characters with clear obsessions, and that's what I've been choosing. Somebody where I could grab ahold of their obsessions and get drunk on them."

looks like the website was running out of stuff to talk aboutNo surprises here, but I'll post anyway...
I guess people don't know the format for how this series will work...
Maggie got a new crib because she remarried. Marty specifically asks her about her husband, and she says he's out of town on a business trip or something.
ok.. explains the wealth, but who is this guy?? also the black stars in the drawing above the fireplace and the stars all in Maggie's blouse....
IMO those are all just easter eggs that contribute atmosphere and aesthetic consistency. There are many more sprinkled throughout the eps. They can't all be clues- that would be way too many clues and they would point everywhere.
People still on that Maggie shyt?
If people think she did/is doing all this shyt to derail Rust/Marty then why did she wait 7 years to do it the first time? Why didn't she do it in '95 when they were on LeDoux's ass? Why didn't she do it when they questioned the lawnmower guy the first time?
Fred.
who said anything about derailing shyt?
she knew about them questioning the lawnmower guy? if so thats news to me...
Several people have said Maggie is "in on it" in some capacity, and suggested she fukked Rust to ruin/derail the investigation.
Even if you disagree with that, if she is "in on it", what exactly has she done to further her cause?
If she was down with the cult how could she not know about the lawnmower guy? What exactly do you guys think she knows, and how? If she's a pawn don't you think someone would say "hey, those two are questioning cult members, handle it"? It's not as if Rust and Marty were subtle in their investigations in '95.
It's easy to say "Maggie was wearing a yellow shirt, she's down with The Yellow King" or any other vague shyt but how does it connect to the story? What does it mean, really?
Fred.

several people?? you guys?? what are you trying to say breh? I am 1 man with my own speculations.
I just feel she has involvement... whether that being knowing some cult members... being a victim of molestation in the past... treated some victims in the hospital... handed a few prescriptions a little too freely. involvement can mean many things. just like gayboy maybe she has shyt imprinted in her subconscious leftover from lds molestations and thats why she is drawn to the stars. can't really say at this point. just shooting from the hip.
you quick to shoot down another nikkas speculations.. like you 100% certain about your shyt. I have peeped that though...
