this thread has gone to shyt.
Damn show got me into Townes Van Zandt now
You gotta admit it was the best episode as of yetIve been thinking about the wife theory for a while now. There were way too many coincidences in that home to dismiss. The girl with the dolls, the circle drawing and psych paintings to name a few. The only problem I have with the wife is in on it theory though is that she lied to protect Rust when questioned. If she was in on it or protecting someone it would be in her best interest to get Rust off the case and there is no better way to do that than try to get him locked up.
Anyways this is why I love this show. So many different potential outcomes and I expect some kind of twist in the finale.
And y'all new nikkas hating on the last two episodes can
I knew that wild scene in episode 4 was going to lure in simple minded folk who expect every episode to be action packed...
bye nikkasdat spoiler....I fell to temptation bruhs
Still
I see why some folks are a bit let down by these last two eps, but it was to be expected. The mystery is always greater when it's still a mystery. It's why classic crime writers such as Agatha Christie and Arthur Conan Doyle always put off the solution of the case until the very end, reveal all the facts and mystery in a climax and end it. The last two episodes have been about Rust and Marty putting two and two together, which isn't as interesting as trying to make sense of the case (investigate) with them.
That's because the mystery isn't really the point of the show. The mystery was always only a vehicle for the character study of the two detectives. The writer explained this in one of the interviews he gave.
Thoroughly enjoyed Rust & Marty back at it after their lives had turned to shyt. Seeing Marty with that failing business, and eating that TV-Dinner was such potent ether, brehs That 5 second scene should be enough to convince all the Coli-Players to get married, and stay married. From like 50 on that bachelor life is
The fact that Rust was actually just drinking his life away in a bar since 2002 was also depressing. Dude had nothing. Not gonna lie, that burglary scene was a bit to me. If there has been any drop off in the last two episodes, for me, its because of some shyt like that. Rust getting his mission impossible on, and that being a major plot point was kind of weak to me.
Still, the greatness of the dynamic between MM and WH is what carried these episodes. Watching how they played their relationship ten year after the falling out was dope to me.
Maggie showing up to the bar seems sort of random. Makes me think she's still somehow involved, not sure on that one.
Last, I'm starting to think spoilers with this show aint that big of a deal. Doesn't look like it's shaping up to have that kind of a mind-blowing ending. Things have been developing in a fairly logical manner, the more interesting developments are between Marty and Rust.....
The only thing that was to me was how the hell did he get in that safe? Not gonna lie, that burglary scene was a bit to me.
