When the old lady said, "You know Carcosa?"

:merchant:

I thought the juxtaposition between the black detectives and Marty and Rust was interesting. The former comes up on the prime suspect by happenstance and can't even be bothered to pay attention to him. Marty and Rust would've been all over that.
Well, Marty wouldn't. Rust would, if Marty hadn't interrupted him in the first meeting. Rust can figure out if someone did it within 10 minutes of talking to them. He would've smelled that dudes psychosphere.

that bytch is in on it, man. i think that part when marty went to her new place was a kinda flashback moment. plus he was like "thanks for everything...i mean that." i think he was saying goodbye in some way because he & rust already discovered that that SLUUUUUT was in on it in some fashion...whether thru her father or whatever.

she trying to tell marty that rust is guilty somehow. then she wanna show up at the bar to distract rust or whatever...he was like GTFOH SLUUUUT.
:beli:
Breh u over thinking shyt...He's saying thanks for everything cuz he knows he about to fukk with some powerful people that can end up getting him killed.

He's not a cop, hes a detective. Even to modern day he's a PI. he even said he never had to draw his gun let alone fire it...His life was in no means in danger....until NOW

If you think you're lonely now, ohhh girl...

Marty seems to be a better detective now that he doesn't have a family. Remember him always going on about detective's curse? His life was full of so much other stuff that he overlooked things. But, now him and Rust are living the same austere ass lifestyle.

Starkset...
still think Maggie is involved in some capacity. I'm no longer looking for the crazy connections like I was couple of eps ago, but its just too much shyt pointing at her. I think Rust has an idea... telling her she "classing up his spot".. my last reach for the series is saying she went to school with those crazy fukks. sheriff rolling like a big dog in that... what was that a maserati? Maggie got that big crib on a nurse's salary? she is demonic......

Maggie got a new crib because she remarried. Marty specifically asks her about her husband, and she says he's out of town on a business trip or something.

Yeah, I was going to mention that Marty sucked as a detective back then because he was so distracted by other things, women, etc. That's why Rust was impressed when Marty got all that info by himself.

I will stand by it, I am sure my enemies will make sure it's enforced.
you got one more episode, could break your way :manny:
Thoroughly enjoyed Rust & Marty back at it after their lives had turned to shyt. Seeing Marty with that failing business, and eating that TV-Dinner was such potent ether, brehs :to: That 5 second scene should be enough to convince all the Coli-Players to get married, and stay married. From like 50 on that bachelor life is :flabbynsick:

The fact that Rust was actually just drinking his life away in a bar since 2002 was also depressing. Dude had nothing. Not gonna lie, that burglary scene was a bit :comeon: to me. If there has been any drop off in the last two episodes, for me, its because of some shyt like that. Rust getting his mission impossible on, and that being a major plot point was kind of weak to me.

Still, the greatness of the dynamic between MM and WH is what carried these episodes. Watching how they played their relationship ten year after the falling out was dope to me.

Maggie showing up to the bar seems sort of random. Makes me think she's still somehow involved, not sure on that one.

Last, I'm starting to think spoilers with this show aint that big of a deal. Doesn't look like it's shaping up to have that kind of a mind-blowing ending. Things have been developing in a fairly logical manner, the more interesting developments are between Marty and Rust.....
the case/the job ruined them, a la The King in Yellow. dudes just haaaad to be so deeply immersed in their lives as detectives, in what were essentially stories that they wanted to know the end to, that their lives fell apart. a genius juxtaposition to those who appreciate literature and good storytelling, a disappointment to those who want action like the scene in the projects

and i dont really think the robbery angle is so :usure: dude fought off a whole block of people while keeping a hostage alive, him breaking into a house after doing surveillance for 4 months and cracking a safe is highly plausible. he was a b&e detective, he knows all the tricks and had nothing but time to try them

Marty's life looked depressing as hell when he and Rust were catching up. My man checking out GILFs on match.com while his ex-wife living in a mansion and still looking damn good for her age

:wow:

Am I crazy or was he looking at a new profile for his old smash?

shyt, i loved this episode, i dont know what people are expecting. way better than the last one. i think people are a bit frustrated with how slowly the story is progressing. i was pissed when i heard the music start playing at the end :damn:

The show takes place in the deep-south. In the bayou. It only makes sense that things would move at a pace slower than molasses. That's the point! Things creep and creep and creep and disturbing revelations come out along the way. This show isn't 24, BB, or Mad Men. It's moving slow because that's a part of the culture, the life, in deep south LA.

this thread has gone to shyt.

The show and the thread will be on fire throughout and following Episode 8. I have a feeling it's going to be episode 4 on steroids.

Some might not grasp it but if those kids were on LSD and meth being tortured and molested by the Scarred lawn mower man.

His scars would be perceived like
w9ygNoP.gif

Hence the spaghetti monster description.

Just giving an adult a surprise dose of that combo would be :demonic: with no torture...But kids:damn:

That picture is amazing.

I also wish we could have seen more Rust "streamers" and "visions" (without it taking away from the show obviously)
