True Detective Season 1 (NO SPOILERS)

Imma call it how i see it and say that this show has become a lil wack with the last 2 eps. After that episode with Rust in the projects, I expected a lil more and it hasn't quite lived up. Also the theory with Marty's wife and daughter being in on it doesn't look to be true, that would have been a good twist. I just read a lil spoiler about how the whole show ends and its not really as good as I thought. a lot of yall gonna prolly b pissed next week.

I see why some folks are a bit let down by these last two eps, but it was to be expected. The mystery is always greater when it's still a mystery. It's why classic crime writers such as Agatha Christie and Arthur Conan Doyle always put off the solution of the case until the very end, reveal all the facts and mystery in a climax and end it. The last two episodes have been about Rust and Marty putting two and two together, which isn't as interesting as trying to make sense of the case (investigate) with them.

I think people got way too much into the cosmic horror part of the story. There is no super natural to this story. Just a bunch of sick people who want to hurt and rape kids/women. Mystery of it is great. Hype of it is great. To think this great conspiracy which involves missing people and kids and dark rituals and people being scarred for life is headed by this unassuming fat law mower guy. It's real scary. Look at what happened to that little girl in the trailer. She is still in that room and will never ever leave. Look at that old black lady this episode who spent 19 years probably being brainwashed and scarred just working there. These guys had a systemic control and dominon over these folks.

shut ya gay ass up boy, show is overrated bruh point blank. The first 3 eps were snoozefest carried by great acting. The middle of the season was great on both ends and now it just flat out sux. Get mad u homo

Man that was ominous as fukk. And this is what I was talking about a few weeks ago when I said there's upside and downside to this thread. That reveal at the end would've been twice as powerful if I didn't see the side-by-side picture of lawnmower hillbilly and spaghetti monster, but I doubt I'd get much discussion about the show outside of family members and maybe 2 friends.

The scene with the old black lady was quality. Its like everybody who's been in contact with this cult has been mentally fukked even if they weren't directly involved. Look at how one minute she went from talking fondly and openly about the Tuttles, then to "I shouldn't be saying all this", to "oh you know carcosa?" and getting all happily demonic.

That part had me sad as hell. Yea he was a dikkhead for cheating on his wife multiple times but wowww this man was eating those struggle meals but still had that "I need help" belly
